98 ZR2 sas

I parked next to a brand new ZR2 the other day. This one had the Duramax diesel. Looks like a nice rig. It's crazy that this new ZR2 is as big as my sas S10, but the Colorado is still only sitting on 31s.

I wouldn't mind having one of those for a daily but I can't justify spending that kind of money for a truck that can't fit 6 and can't tow what I need to and all the other things I use my trucks for. They look cool though.

Love the truck, Wish I would’ve stumbled upon your build thread back before I built my SAS F150. I was looking into S10 solid axle swaps pretty hard as there a great rig already. Keep up the good work

Pulled the transfer case yesterday. I parked the S10 a week ago as something has been ratteling when I'm at stoplights & sometime it would bang hard during acceleration.

The transfer case is untouched with 240k on it. I did change the front input seal once.

Looks like the shift fork pads are gone. This has to be the cause of the ratteling & banging. The shift collar isn't held in place. Couldn't find replacement pads at the NAPA, so had to order on Amazon. Waiting till next week now.

Would be way cooler to swap in a doubler or atlas, but for now it get rebuilt. Haven't seen much in the classified section that would work with this drivetrain.

Is this the stock case?
Basically an electric shift np231?

Yeah, exactly an electrically shifted 231. S10 231's are goofy with 5 bolt mounting to the transmission adaptor. Unlike every other transfer case with the round 6 bolt pattern.

Yeah I haven't dug deep into my s15 Jimmy but I am planning on sas with 6 lug axles and a 700r4 and 241.
I might consider a 243 if I have trouble hooking up shifters, I just don't like the no neutral in the 233.
