'99 4 Door Tahoe SAS Build, Taking it back a few years

Another one bit the dust!
IMG_5053.JPG

Had another great weekend at Barnwell mountain this weekend. On the trip back, another one of my army surplus 37's decided to let go. They are just too old, and I'm through screwing with them!

The budget will just have to recover. 17 x 9 beadlock wheels orderd, and working on a deal for some 37" IROK radials. That should fix it!!!

I'm sad to see the H1's go. They look so good on this truck. But I can't wait to see what the iRoks look like on here!

If ya find smokin deals, make sure to tell us where.
Bent needs 37s on the 77

I certainly will! But this particular set I'm working on is from local wheeler, he ran these 37's for a short while, then stepped up to 39.5's. Gonna take a little horse trading to get them.

On the sliders I would consider a brace up to the top of the frame. It has always blown my mind how much frame connected sliders can flex.

The added bracing helps a substantial amount.

Well I finally got my wheels installed!

Ultra X103 Extreme Beadlocks, and I wrapped them with a used set of used IRoks. Size 37-12.50-17. This purchase was a hit to the wallet, but they look great. My only hope was the preformed as good as they looked.

So, I Took it out to the local trails to test them out, and WOW what a difference!! The traction was great, the tire flex blew my mind, the ride is now very smooth, and I gained back a lot of power that was lost with the heavy H1 wheel and tire set up.

Love it man!!
Let me know later on the IRocs performance after you have had them on for a little while
I have them on mine but I'm still in the build stage

Well, I have decided it's time to start the rear bumper product. And I plan to build one, from scratch. This will be my first attempt at a bumper build, but how hard could it be? Ive got plenty of scrap metal laying around. So, all I'm going to be out it's a little bit of time if things don't turn out to plan. Anyway, The part of the body that I seem to continuously beat up on this rig is the area behind the rear tires. And the factory receiver hitch hangs too low. My plan is to ditch the factory hitch and recess it higher within the new bumper. I'm also going to trim the lower part of the rear fenders (that I've already damaged) and wrap the bumper under the corners. Also, im going to move the spare tire to the bumper, as well as make a new mount for my hi lift jack. I'm probably going to work slow. Again, I'm new to a project such as this. But what I've got in my mind should turn out just fine.

First step completed this weekend. Rear bumper and receiver hitch removed, and fenders trimmed. No turning back now.
