If you didn't break any hard parts, I don't know that you need to look for something other than another 4L60. Just get one with upgraded parts and I think you'd be just fine. Maybe add some extra cooling.

I agree on a bigger cooler. Keeping an automatic cool is extremely important. But at no time did this one ever heat up. Climbed quickly to 185 and never saw it near or cross 200. That just leads me to believe it was put together poorly. This trans was rebuilt (supposedly) right before I bought the Tahoe. I’ve put 30k miles on it since.I think an upgraded 4L60 will be good. And a big azz cooler

Well the bigger tires on that Texas sized ass is a concern.I agree with staying 4l60. Use upgraded internals 4l70spec as noted and run with it. As long as you got a vortec 350 you aren't going to stress it too bad.
