99 K2500 Suburban - Tow Rig

Nice score on the new Burb! I enjoyed your last build thread, this one should be just as good.

FWIW, my buddy had 285's on his 97 Z71 and they did rub with no lift, he eventually put a body lift on it. :doah:

Edit: Just realized that was your old 97 so you know about the tire rub.

The only way 285's will almost clear is with stock backspacing wheels.....

The bumper corner is already trimmed on this truck, trimming the rear fender corner is easy enough. We'll see. Anyone run 285's on those newer narrow 3/4 ton wheels?

Thanks man! Hoping to not pour money into this one for a while. Everything in my life is requiring money at once. The old burb, this burb, my bmw. Paid a huge health bill.

And trying to save for a down payment ASAP. This burb has to NOT be a money pit for a while. Hopefully it'll do its job w/o too much cash for a couple years.

Got it back from the shop, New pads/rotors/calipers, Shoes/cylinders and turned drums.

Guy bled it multiple times, had a GM guy bleed it wiht a scan tool....and it stops worse than it did before :eek1:

If i leave the keys in the ign, anyone want to drive it off a cliff? I'll leave you a case of beer in the front seat.....

I'll tell you one thing is for certain...when i get back from this weekend away, the 91 is getting some serious love and attention.

Pedal is soft. I can push it to the floor when stopped. Doesn't stop well.

He said its properly bled, and the hydro boost is on its way out? I don't have much experience with hydroboost, but pretty sure I had better pedal when I dropped it at the shop with no pads

Its possible that the bleeding killed the master cylinder. I have seen that happen a couple times. A master has about 1" of stroke for 10 years or so, then while bleeding, it gets pushed in 2" and it kills the seals.

It's strange that you have Hydraulic assisted braking for a gasser. Also if the pedal goes all the way to the floor that would normally be pointing at the master cylinder or a leak in the system. Not too familiar with hydraulic assisted brake units though.

yep, that is exactly what happens, you will need a new master.

Didn't go out that day. Was a friends boat, and I was too lazy to rewinterize.

But, I went out twice this feb. our winter has been a joke

I got uber frustrated with this truck. New master, barely stops. Probably needs hydroboost unit.

Nothing i can't fix, but that isn't the point of this truck. It was NOT supposed to be a project.

Currently, my BMW needs radiator/shocks, my mom's tahoe needs hubs and MC, my dad's bmw needs power steering work, etc.....

Can't have another project.

Posted on ebay, sold Buy It Now, should have a check in hand by sunday.

Bye Bye problem suburban......
