Ok, after my 91 left me stranded on the freeway, after countless nights to keep it running for trips, it was time to upgrade.

Picked up this Suburban.

99 K2500 454/4l80e

White/Grey, LT Trim.

Showed up with:
side steps (removed)
air bags (removed)
Custom Front Bumper / Fog Lights / Chrome Grill
Backup Lights cut into rear bumper
Flowmaster exhaust with nice single exit tip
Hardware FM modulator thing for Ipod
265's on 16x8 Centerlines, with stock center caps.
Tinted Front Windows

Got sorta screwed by the Dealer, and he ended up having to split a full brake job with me. So when i get it back tonight, it will have all new brakes!

Next, is tires. The dealer i bought it from had Firestone put on a set of P265/75R16 tires. Rated at 2601lbs per tire. Rear axle GWR is 6k.

Firestone manager said he'd try to work with me if i bring the invoice in, and help me get into a set of correct tires.

If that is the case, i'll get rid of the Centerlines on it, in favor of some 2000+ style factory alcoas.

Also hoping to pickup a Van style Bedrug tonight, and cut to fit for the rear. Like the carpet idea, and loved the tough liner i had in my other burb, as i often throw greasy/wet stuff back there.

Pics to be added when i get home.

Current things to fix:
A/C - Hopefully needs a recharge
Slow Starting - Fuel filter, check Regulator, Fuel Pump Relay
Tstat - Needs a proper 195˚
Rear Struts - Getting Weak
Headlight Switch - Rubber is gone (I'm a picky bastard)
Front License Plate Bracket to be added
Figure out why rear wiper isn't working
Add Key/Headlight chime module back in - Anyone know what this is officially called?
Fix sticking power locks

Going to try and hold off on full stereo for a while, but may install an extra deck i have sooner rather than later.

Would also like a real alarm some time soon, but we'll see how funds end up.

Got a screaming deal on some 2000+ 16x6.5 alcoa's. Listed as steel on craigslist w/o pics. Requested pic, confirmed they were alloys, and it looked like they were bare rims. Arranged to meet up and cram them in the BMW, and he shows up with wheels And tires. Doah!

We were 10 min from my parents house, and he seemed trustworthy, and understood my situation... So I paid him cash, and he's headed to drop them at my parents. Hope he doesn't just split!

Looks like they have 265 or 285's on them, but bald. Will be worth mounting for mockup purposes!

What a guy! There are some honest people still out there!

Even sent me a pic!

NICE!! Cant wait to see those mounted up! I always liked the look of the new wheels on your body style!

The tires are 245's now that I looked. Going to mount them up as is and see what the offset looks like.

They are really narrow at 6.5, but we'll see how the tire deal works out, and I'll decide if I want 265's or 285's

To get the stance I want, or closer to what it has now with the Alcoa wheels, I'll probably need spacers.

In the old Burb, I had a rubber truck bed mat. Worked great

Found a deal on a 13'x6 brand new roll of bedrug material made for van applications.

Picked it up for $50! Score.

Can't wait to make a custom rear liner!

Craigslist, my dear friend....

Sent the guy an email at his asking of $75 last week, no response. Reposted this week at $50, i called. He said he didn't' check his email. I told him that choice cost him $25:haha:

Should have taken pics of the rig he was building.

Shaved, lowered 66 Chevy van.

Ah i see. Nice score! I usually start with e mailing folks as i have found that there is a lot of people i dont particularly care to chat with on the phone when it comes to craigslisters...

For reference, what my 97 looked like, with 16x8's (I think) and 285 BFG's.

Rubbed the front fenders a bit.

I will take somemore when I get home. The only reason I didn't go 285's is the tire to me seems too wide for the wheel.

285's on the 6.5's definitely have that ballooned look, i know what you mean.

Dang man! The 97 looked nice! Why did you get rid of it? Also, it doesn't help you any, but my burb has 285/75-16s on 16x8 wheels.

Damn thing was spotless....no one had ever eaten in it.

I bought it in college to replace my 2 door tahoe, and really...that was a bad move for the mileage it was going to get. That, and I couldn't' bring myself to part with the 94.

Didn't end up getting rid of the 2 door until i bought the 91, and had been using it exclusively for almost 2 yrs.

Don't get me started on emotional attachment to trucks, haha

Nice score on the new Burb! I enjoyed your last build thread, this one should be just as good.

FWIW, my buddy had 285's on his 97 Z71 and they did rub with no lift, he eventually put a body lift on it. :doah:

Edit: Just realized that was your old 97 so you know about the tire rub.
