Flooding really wasnt bad. Car only saw 8in of water max. Nothing in the cab. It just started raining again and high tide just hit so we're about to get it again but between storms we snuck out for some China Buffet.

I pulled the car out and it felt like it had next to no brakes, and felt like there was no power assist. Hit em real hard and the brakes feel like they are there. I drove down the street cautiously and it felt like it was going away. Drove all the way to the restaurant (50+ MPH) and they felt fine.

Go through the water again to get home and pull in the driveway and they feel like garbage again. I havent had a chance to look at anything but is there any common problems I should be checking out from flooding with brakes?

I had a 99 GMC 1 ton van that used to do the same thing. Heavy rain on the freeway would trigger it. It's the anti locks. GM never did figure out why, but it was caused by water on the rotor sensors. It would always happen exiting the freeway. Get off on the exit ramp, get on the brakes, start to slow down, and then it was like the brakes just released. Not fun, had to pull the seat out of my butt a few times.

Glad that van is gone.

Odd thing is no ABS. I backed out of the driveway this morning, didnt feel good. Started driving TOTALLY FINE.

Dodge garbage.

Wet brakes wil do that. Once heated up to dry, they'll work again. I've got the same issue with my Burbs. Driving through standing water and the brakes are gone for a mile or two unless I ride the brakes right after coming out of the water. I dont have ABS either, just disc front/drum rear. I had an 83 s-10 long time ago that'd do the same thing if there was alot of slush on the road.:dunno:
