That's pretty cool, Eric. I know that you weren't a huge fan of what I had going on at the begging. Glad that I passed the "Heavy Hitter" test.. :haha:

Well I am heavy for sure:D:D

I just don't like stock bumpers for the most part. They crumple really easy, even beefed up ones don't seem to like rocks much. One a first gen though I can see using it because of the look. Just gonna have to be careful and I hate being careful :D

That's really where I'm at. If it's a no-go and crumples like a beer can, I can always build another something. I'm pretty sure it would be a easy mount up with what I have going on. :waytogo:

I took a couple hours out of the day and headed South to Jersey. Met up with a guy that obviously likes ducks. So much he mounted one to his hood. :pimp:

Pretty awesome day finally meeting Paul in person. Hell of a nice guy and let me tell you guys, that blazer kicks ass. :saweet:

Thanks for the beers and letting me take a look at the rig in person, Paul. You really do some nice work. :thumb:

your welcome at Ryoken's Lab™ anytime! :D

something is wrong with that pic, ryoken doesn't look scary at all... hmmm.

Awesome!

It's not often that you get to see two CK5 heavyweights standing side by side! :waytogo:

I bet that looking at Paul's builds in person was serious "information overload"... :eek1:

Yeah, it came out pretty good for just setting it on one of his cabs.

You're not kidding, Greg. It took me a couple of minutes before I was crawling all over the rig. Under the rig, sitting in the cab, checking out the salad bowl, bumper, tow points and such. Pure craftsmanship, I tell ya.

Two big things that I learned when I was there..

I really don't fit well in the seats that Paul has. They are the 2" wider and they are still a little tight. I just don't think the would work well snow wheelin' with some Carhart bibs and such on. Kinda really pointed me to the reclining PRP's with less of a side bolster.

Paul can take a joke pretty well about small valve covers. :D :haha:

Look at me Look at me I got a big block oh I am sorry your valve covers are so small and cute.

Your a jerk Mike :haha::haha::haha::haha::haha:

There is a list of trucks I want to see.

My sister is probably moving back to DC area in about 5 years. I plan on coming to visit Dave sometime so I may just push on to the coast go see Greg and Paul.

I am sure my wife and kids would be fine with that.

:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

You gotta love it. On your build back, just add three times as many dimple dies to the rig and we might be even.

Well, maybe not... :D

Believe me, I will see Greg's somehow, some way, before 2019..:deal:

There may be a newer (bigger than yours) motor brewing for Horton. Its an outside shot for sure but its a possibility.

We shall see right now my plan will just stay with my current drivetrain. Of course my goal weight is 4000 lbs so my small block might just keep up with your behemoth :D:D

Do tell...:ears:

I seen that you put your frame up for sale. Kinda weird seeing that happen. It's going to be one cool build back though with the tube frame and all. :waytogo:

it definitely looks like the recliners lower bolsters would help alleviate any width issues Mike...

Yeah, it sucks to carry all of this extra...errrr.. "muscle" around sometimes. :haha:

I am really glad that I did sit in your seats. If not, I prolly would have just spent the cash, had them shipped and then have to lose some..."muscle" so I could fit. :doah: :D

Nope no telling here like I said its an outside shot that I can get it. So until it is in my hands I shall remain silent.

yah it felt weird to list that frame for sale. Been looking at how to make fiberglass molds to form all the body panels. This whole thing is going to be a whole lotta work but I will come out with a lighter narrower better built version of Horton that will still look like Horton. But I can't stay out of wheeling for to long I will go nuts.

Looking forward to seeing that Eric. :waytogo:

Mike, very cool that you could meet Paul and get a tour of the dungeon. I'm sure it's a bit humbling to see his craftsmanship even for someone with your level of skill.

Somebody reminded me that the 1969 model year actually started in 1968, so our 50th anniversary gathering would be in 2018, not 2019.

The pressure is REALLY on now!.... Only 5 years left to finish! :haha:

There are only a couple of people on this board that remember them on the showroom floor, so I'll have to take your word for it. :tongue1:  :haha:

Personally I think that you should fly up to Canuckland for the party this summer. It looks like Sean is in now.. :woot:

Just a thought..:waytogo:

hey mike im selling the hunsaker seats out of the grinch if you are interested in them. I have a full set of PRP that are going in it.

Got a pic. I think they were like the Corbeau seats that the guys shot me down on. :doah: :wink1:

Dave said it best in Dean's thread (yeah, I've been watching, just waiting on some super progress:D).

Well Dean, I don't think you understand how this works....you have a build thread, and unless it is already finished (never happens) then you must build your truck to the standards of the masses! We get to live vicariously through your work and $$$$.!

Ok, now about that Big Block....

So, with that thought, and it kinda being a CK5 build now, I need to go through the Grinch build or get a pic to see if I can have them or not. lol
