sometimes it's fun to build something with a lot less pressure to get it perfect, or just something besides on the rig for a change of pace. looks like that rack is going to be pretty nice.

You got it, Ash. This weekend I have a wake on Saturday and my B-day on Sunday. I do plan on getting something done on the rig Sunday though. It's either get this bumper thing going or hack it all out, including the fangs and fab a new one.

que: Eric :D

you western guys make me envious....just leave tools bolted to the concrete outside....FFS my **** would seize up in a couple days.
Hell, my vehicles most all have rusty rotors on them because they don't get driven everyday WTF?
Humid as hell here today, as storms rolled through last night and brought much needed rain, but now it will be humid again for a couple days at least.

Not too bad here for that. I do keep the dies inside but the rest can take a little beating. The dial has a little rust on it, but 5 seconds with the roloc disk and all is good again. :pimp:

Nice work Mike. Welds are looking really good brother.

There're still far from great, but a hell of a lot better than when I started. Thanks though. :waytogo:

N

Happy birthday buddy!!!!:D:D

All I am gonna say for now LOL

Thanks Guys. A little slow this morning from a good day with a lot of neers and friends yesterday.

Going to be another hot one here today.....like 110 or something. Don't know what will get done.......but I'm sure it will involve some more neers. :D :woot:

Way too hot for any real progress on Sunday. It was just about 110 all weekend. I remember last year trying to weld and grind in the garage and it was torture..

I had this fan going and it seemed to just be worse with it on. Blowing hot air around just was not going to cut it this year..

So................ It was birthday present for Mike time.. :D

May I introduce the newest tool for the garage..

The Port a Cool 3000. :woot:

This thing is pretty nice....:pimp1:

Enjoying my new toy with a beer. :waytogo:

Bring on the heat....... Progress will push through now. :saweet:

nice man! It was about 105* here as well so I feel your pain. That should make life in the garage a lot more enjoyable.
Looks like the kids found a reason to hang out by dad too. lol

Hell yeah, man.

On a side note. I thought that it would really suck being as old as you. Turns out it ain't that bad.

So far.

:tongue1: :D

Kids hung out all weekend. It was cool. :waytogo:

Sorry to hear about your AC. Hopefully you can get that fixed today.

Awesome...seen one of those on American hot rod when it was on,everyone was fighting over it. :haha:

I was hoping for pics of all the Near cans you killed over the weekend!?? :thumb::thumb:

Thanks man. Looks like it's going to be tomorrow before anyone can come out though. Time to see if the ol' swamp cooler still works.

That's a pretty fancy setup you've got there Mike! Hopefully it's somewhat impervious to dust:whistle:

Now get to work! How is it that I'm the one that got coerced into a big block swap and now I'm the only one with a driving BBC powered first gen? Git'r dun!!!

Parking on a dirt pile doesn't exactly count as "driving".....

Aren't you supposed to be putting some daylight under your front tires right about now?

The steering column showed up just as ridiculous thunderstorm #2 of the day hit. The old column was removed earlier, so once the rain quits I'll get out there and get this and the exhaust done.

I fixed a small coolant leak this morning too.

Wheelie time should happen later :haha:

sorry to be late to the party Mike, I was snortin' NITRO all weekend in Chicago!

..........but happy birthday young feller!

Made some progress yesterday. Probably doesn't look like much, but it's a pretty huge step with pushing forward on the bumper. I now have a foundation that I can build off of. It took along time to get the bumper just right with the body, grill and frame.

I don't know what way it's going to go today. Just going to start stuffing tube in there and we'll see.

Pics from yesterday.

Here you can see how hard it will be to get some tube in front of the fangs to add protection. Thought about "Frenching" (if that is the correct word) into the fangs??? We'll see how it goes

That's all I have...

Every time you post new pics I think wow nice work Mike...a lot of time and thought put into that! Looks good! :waytogo:

Love the COMPETITION briquettes!! :haha::haha:
