Lol... Carpenters are a little slow. Probably left over from no shave November. :) The sheshed will be used as a art room/ pool room.

Thank you, Sir.

Thanks Brother. Are you back to wood butchering? I thought I seen some deck pics awhile ago. All is safe from the fires. Now it’s just trying to figure out the schedule on rebuilding all of these homes.

I think I’m going to have a little time to sneak out to the garage this weekend. It’s been too long.

Yeah I've been back to chuckin wood the past 8 months or so. Love it most of the time.. but it's not too steady through our rainy winter's and it's hard to get by right now so I'm making the switch back to operating cranes.

Must be tons of insurance work. Bet it'll be non stop go go go to get people back into a home on their land. Definitely will feel good to help them I'd say!

And yes, do it for all the guys like me who don't have a garage haha

P.s deck pics are private...

Good evening Gentlemen.... and Bent,

Some well needed progress on the blazer this past Saturday and today. Not nearly what I was hoping, but I think we’ve all been there. :doah:

The original plan was to get into everything a little slow as it’s been awhile. I wanted to finally be able to steer the rig. Bringing it to the end of the property during the fire with a floppy front axle sucked balls. Especially trying to back the pig in.

The steering column was installed for the first time in forever. That was kinda neat finding all of those parts again.

The Borgerson shaft was pretty strait forward once I grew a set and cut that sucker down to size. 14 1/2 inches just seems so small, but it worked nicely. The next order of business was the front shocks and tabs.

Now I know that I had this figured out when I built the engine cage, but the beer fridge might have helped me along the fab trail of failure. The steering shaft and shock kinda wanted to occupy the same space. So a little cutting, grinding moving and all should work again. I still need to put it back together, but I wanted to pressure wash the crud and grinding dust off the axle before welding on the tabs. Hopefully this week I can spray bomb it and bolt her back up for finished pics.

Progress....:D

About time you quit bending nails and started some serious line of employment,
melting nails. Looking good sir.

Amen to that. Thank you, Sir. Sorry the pics are in absolutely no order whatsoever. That’s not how I put them in, but that’s the way they’ll stay for the night. Pretty sure my little granddaughter brought home a plague from school as we’re both going downhill fast tonight. Damnit!

Allthread as a placeholder for the shock eyes is a clever trick. I’ve done that a few times myself.... once in 2010 and again in 2013 from what I can remember! Lol

I would have given you credit, until you brought up the dates. No way I would have remembered stuff from way back then. Lol

I am surprised he can remember, with all the distractions he has had.

All progress is good.

With all that tube work (and it’s my favorite part of your build), you and Greg are going to drag magnetic north to Moab for a weekend when y'all make it to Blazer Bash.

How much lift are those front springs Mike?
The arch on them looks like 8'' plus

6” Alcans/ORD or whatever you’d like to call them. Lol

A little here, a little there all adds up. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to put any littles together. :D

By that point the poles will have switched anyway.

You’ve been on a role the last two days. I can appreciate a good kidney shot from time to time. :haha:

And before I forget, Ash....

:flipoff7:

Went out and spray bombed some primer and hammered black on the axle this morning in my sick pajamas bottoms with slip on shoes. Not feeling well has its privileges. I’m sure it was a good sight for the neighbors driving by. Lol

I need to stay on schedule. Eric is staying here on Saturday night on his way home from KOH. He’s never seen the rig in person. I’d like to have it all together as much as possible so he can tell me all of the things that I did wrong in one big swoop. Tear that bandaid right the hell off. :doah: :haha:

Cool to see that Eric is going to swing by. I guess he's figured the same thing I did, if the blazer can't come to the mountain, the mountain must go to the blazer! :D

Btw, that hammered black looks freakin' awesome! I may steal that.
