The strange thing is I just read this thread a week ago, so now I have seen her getting her driver's license and then having a baby in here in the span of a few weeks. Seems really quick to me.

:eek1: Glad that didn't happen in real time!

Gratz grandpa! Good looking kid there.

Thanks for making my Sunday! :D

It made mine, too. :waytogo:

It's about time Super Star. :waytogo:

Yeah, I think it was time. :woot:

I think you were about to build a set of these:

Lol, Paul comin' in stirring the pot. I love it. It's like this thread never skipped a beat now. :pimp:

Something about a farm? Mooooo!

Walked around it for about 4 hours last night. I think that about 90% of the fab is done already.

I think you were derailed by a fall from the rafters!

That was me older brother trying to be a cool falcon, like me. I told him it wouldn't work, but he didn't listen. At least we got some funny pics out of the deal. :screwy: :thumb:

Did a lot of thinking last night. Along with a bunch of getting to know her again drinkin'. Fun night. :haha:

Going to do a little work on the winch to get me back into the fab thing, then I'm going to finish weld the entire cage. It should have been done by now anyways. Then It's all about blowing this thing apart again. I really want to finish the chassis 100%. Drive train, axles, shocks etc...

Then it's all about seeing what I can do with the body.

I wanna go fast.....:burnout:

What a great day to be back. I missed this a lot. :saweet:

As many of you know, Greg called me out on basically a one on one MPS day to see if I still had the juice after a long vacation from the Blazer. :waytogo:

Get that, getting called out on my own creation. Damn it! :haha:

Anyways, the day didn't let me down with the constant back and forth from the Old 1st gen gang. Greg, Sean, Ash, Aj and I had a colorful day with witty banter to keep the fab spirits alive.

I picked my project, pretty much where I lefty off. Finishing the hidden bumper winch handle. I've been thinking about this thing for years ever since I built the front end. Never knew if it was going to work the way I had envisioned.

On to the pics, Gentlemen.....

Started last weekend for a couple hours trying to come up with a proof of concept piece that I could hold in my hands.

I got to roll these around and see what might hit, Or, if it would even work. The spacing was going to be too small between the center hole and tube tabs. So I started over with everything this morning.

These are actually a very small rectangle. The steering knuckle only fits through it one way.

Looking down at my clearance...

Cut down a 3/4" socket as one of the pieces.

Put the grill on to see where everything lined up. It ended up at about 3/4" from the back of the tube bumper to the grill face.

The parts..

And what she looks like mounted.

And some of the winner shots. I'm still not there, but I'm close. I think with a little more finesse, a new bolt set up, maybe shims under the tube tabs, I might just make that 3/4's inch I was shooting for.

Well, that's the show that I brought. Maybe the first, 1st Gen hidden winch (Warn Zeon 12,000) with a steering knuckle handle to an inconspicuous access point that I've seen on the site.

But, I guess we'll wait to see what Greg concocted for the show today. lol

After all the woodworking pics of late I'm just glad to see you built it out of steel. ;)
