Camp Fire Update:

Not really an update, but I did want to throw these pics into the build to document them.

The Blazer was moved to the corner of my property in an area with little grass or trees hopes to save it from the encroaching fire that took out Paradise, CA. I didn't want to leave it in the garage as that would have been a 100% loss if the fires did make it the last couple of miles to my house. I stripped the tires, dash and seats...basically anything that could catch an ash or thoroughly burn. I ended up moving the Blazer back to it's home yesterday. It was a good feeling seeing her back in the garage. :smirk:

Indeed.....

Very happy your safe

Better than so many of my neighbors. I know so many people with literally only the clothes on their backs right now.

Glad that was as bad as you guys got. I feel terrible for Jess, and the rest of the people effected by the fires.

Amen.. Jess just want's to get back up to his property (home) that was untouched. I started to get him pricing on the concrete work for a 60'x100' metal building last night. He's pushing forward on rebuilding HAD up on his property.

Man, so scary to see it out and so vulnerable but nothing else you could do. Glad you made it through the fire ok. :thumb:

I was a little freaked, but really not much you can do. Just glad that it's pretty much over and the firefighters are doing a kick ass job right now. All 5600 or them.

Glad to hear you're back at home.

and next time (hopefully there isn't one) take me up on my offer and let me come get the blazer for you ;)

I'm so with you on the phrase "Hopefully there isn't one".........We have had way too many evacs in the last couple of years. This would have been the forth time that my partner and I would have crashed at one anothers houses, in recent years, due to fires or floods.

I'm totally taking you up on the offer though, if it happens again. Thanks. First thing I'm working on once the damn smoke clears some, is the steering. Having the tow bar hooked up is awesome, but only having a tie rod hooked up on the axles kinda sucks. Especially when backing up. It's move it back 10 feet, jack up the front, straiten the tires, lower down...rinse and repeat to desired destination. I have all of the parts, just never have installed everything, yet.

Stay safe. Glad you’re okay.

Thanks David.

David

Seeing the blazer out there on the corner exposed like that helps drive home just how close this was. Hopefully the worst is over.

Being that you have been here, you can totally understand where the blazer was buried to the rotors in the dirt out on the corner. At least the neighbors got to see what in the hell all of those empty beer boxes has produced. :D

Glad you're back home n OK. I couldn't imagine having to deal with that

Thanks Brother. Every time we go though it, it's kind of a surreal experience. Unfortunately, I'm getting pretty good at it. :surepal:

so glad to see this back in your (unburnt) garage!

That smoky look is what we dealt with here for almost two months of our summer. BC burned bad too. A lot less people and shit in BC though. Still, it played hell with what should have been a kick ass summer weather wise. I know...first world problems. It;s hard not to be a little bitter when you have 6 months of winter though.

Glad to see it coming to an end. Not a ton of news coverage since it all started? Politics take over the news!? Hard to imagine how bad it is. Unreal i’m sure! Sad about all the loss of lives...
Happy to hear our Ck5 friends are ok, but i’m sure some of your families are effected one way or another.

Not to be unsympathetic but there should be lots of rebuilding related jobs.

Mike your blazer might look like it is now for a while yet, with the awesome work you guys do and your big heart I know you will be a very busy crew!
Take it easy! Wishing you all the best!

Mikey how’s the lumber flinging going?

It’s going pretty great. Thanks for asking. Sorry I haven’t been around much. Just doesn’t seem to be enough time for a lot lately.

Yesterday, I had the Wedi rep up to the job site to learn how to install a new shower system. It’s a great system which seems to be a lot better than our normal Schluter shower systems. It was a lot of fun and a great learning experience.

One of these days I’ll get back up to the garage again to keep pushing forward on the front clip. Possibly even this weekend??

Couple of work pics for the time being. :)

To work together you all require facial hair?

I love looking at pics of your teams work! :waytogo: That mother in laws cabin is sweet!

Lol... Carpenters are a little slow. Probably left over from no shave November. :) The sheshed will be used as a art room/ pool room.

Thank you, Sir.

Thanks Brother. Are you back to wood butchering? I thought I seen some deck pics awhile ago. All is safe from the fires. Now it’s just trying to figure out the schedule on rebuilding all of these homes.

I think I’m going to have a little time to sneak out to the garage this weekend. It’s been too long.
