Yeah, I hear ya. 2k is just not in the budget though. I figure $500 for the carb and I'm running down the road. I still need to find somewhere between 10-12k just to finish this thing. Maybe even more...

Short list
HAD-DS's 2k
Ron Davis - 1100.00
Carb - 500.00
Tires -1800.00
Paint Mats -2k
Seats -1300.00
Cluster -600.00
Liner -800.00

Plus all of the other stuff $$$$

Later
Winch----
Bumpers----
Lockers (I have a detroit now)

You get the idea.....

Oh I hear you, I was just blowing you chit:waytogo: You should look into the entropy radiator like AJ and I are running. REALLY nice quality and mine was about $800 with shipping, so that'd save you quite a bit.

What liner are you going to run that's $800? I was going to do Al's (still plan to but down the road) and it was only gonna be about $250.

Also, why is Jesse charging you full price. Didn't you help him out a bunch? Tell that punk to comp them to you:grin:

The Entropy sounds like a good deal. I'll need to check them out, thanks..

Liner- The inside I'd like to go with Al's at the 250 range, but the bottom I want in Lizard Skin. The two coat process with the heat and noise would be nice. Last time I checked I think that it was around 600 for what I want to do with it...

Jessie doesn't owe me anything. We did work and got paid from the insurance company. He is hurting, just like every other self employed person I know. I wouldn't expect any short cuts on the pricing from him. It would be cool, but not defiantly not expected. He's helped he a bit on this already and I'm grateful for that alone.

I was just joking about Jesse, he's a nice guy that makes really nice stuff.

The lizard skin sounds sweet, that should turn out pretty awesome :thumb:

So if I am seeing everything right you took your rocker box out and used your rock sliders to do the same thing and also protect the underside?

Yep, you got it. The sliders are my strength for the full vert now, among other things. With it being tied into the cage and when I run the tube from the front of the dash bar to my engine cage with a plate on the firewall, I don't see any movement with the tub or firewall in my future.

BTW lets see some pics of your rig. We all love pics...:D

shes still in pieces but I will take a few tonight when I get back in the garage to hopefully finish with the b&m shifter and cable install. slowly trying to teach myself to weld.

I will post some pics of the center console I made that started out as the toilet display mounts you find in the toilet aisle of home depot (picked them up as extras from my last job. Also try to get some pics of the the brackets for my front seats. Then you will see hom much welding time I really dont have. But I will say after performing the stress test (throwing it down on the ground a few times as hard as I can) nothing broke or cracked :D

Well it was one of those weekends that I just kinda threw some metal at the rig to hopefully come up with an idea of how I'm going to tie all of this in.

Friday I missed hitting the metal shop to pick up some more tube by about 3 minutes. So, I only had one piece that I could bend up to get the brain flowing. I wanted to somehow incorporate the doubler mount into some kind of skid plate that covers from the front of the trans to the back of the 205. At first I made my bend a little to big and had to cut it down. It still looks like I need to trim it down another inch so I can clear the exhaust.

I finally attempted on installing my Hooker headers to see where and how this is all going to play out under the rig. Well, I ran into several problems with the headers. I guess 1st off, is I don't have enough room in the frame area for the two front tubes (1 and 2 cylinders). I would massage the frame in this area, but it's hitting the engine crossmember too. The second problem I ran into is these seem to hang really low under the floor. They actually hang below the frame some. I need to get these closer to the floor, just to be able to mount the doubler. Third thing that I noticed, is that on the passenger side I'm going to run into problems with the front driveshaft. I put a string going from the Yoke up to the output on the 205 and I'm really going to have some problems here. I also cut the floor a little to gain back my 4.5* for the rear driveline. This looks like it's going to be a problem too. I don't know how I'm going to get my exhaust by there.

Lot's of little problems came up this weekend that I have to work through. I guess this is what you get by installing every custom part that was not existing on the 43 year old chev.

Some pics...

Passenger side. I put on an old SB valve cover to see how much difference there would be. I really like the looks of these old MT's. I bought them back in the day when I thought this was going the 383 route. Might be looking for some BB ones now.

Yeah that clocked up tcase posts a major problem for the dual exhaust. But those long tube headers are so good for torque. The headers are going to be offset if they are good because they they try to keep them equal length, I have the hookers and really like them. But I don't have my tcase clocked up.

No offense man, but I'm glad I'm not in your shoes at the moment:doah: I know you'll get it, but that just looks like enough little things that need adjusted to turn into one big PITA:haha: I'm sure some more time laying underneath with cause that light bulb to at least flicker. I like the start of the skid plate, that'll look sweet as hell once you finalize it.

You're seeing some of the header issues I noticed on mine. The frame is just too narrow at the front to fit full collectors in. I remember somebody on here (don't know who ATM, maybe IGOR????) who had Kert burn him some taller motor mount plates to get the engine a little higher to help clear the headers in the frame. Either way, I think you're probably going to have to notch that a little. As for the pipes, mine were (and still are until later) bent up in an S shape to go over the T-case after the headers. I know about the better flow of long tubes, but this is going to cause me to run some nice medium length or shorty's when I do the new motor. They'll hold a little closer to the back of the block and should be a pretty straight shot to clear the case, or I could have a x over pipe to run both down the drivers side for space.

Looking good either way. Those roller rockers are SEXXAY!!!:pimp:

Yep, Heath, I'd like to get this to work without getting into cutting up the headers. But, just like everything else, the 5" cut-off blade always solves clearance issues..:deal:

Thanks for your support, Sean. I really appreciate it. :haha: I think you should be on the next plane back to the mainland to give me a hand. I have an extra mattress if needed.

It was actually AJ that ran into the problem with his headers.

Don't really know what I'm going to do yet, just like posting pics of my mess..:pimp:

At least it's a well built, heavily modified mess :D the whole header clearance, firewall clearance, everything else clearance is the biggest reason I' probably gonna stay small block. That and I don't want to break everything constantly... I like the skinny pedal!

I don't have much to offer, but I like looking at pics, so post away! :thumb:

I'm with you on this one. every time I start thinking "hmmmm... big block huh" I see a post like this one and I go runnin' for the small blocks. :haha:
