So, been awhile since I drove the beast. Its pretty warm now and went to put on the A/C and just got hot air, compressor wasnt coming on, RPMs werent dropping like normal. So, it was either fuse, relay, pressure switch or out of refridgerant.

Stopped by a buddies house, we jumped the low pressure switch on the dryer and sure enough compressor kicked on. I replaced the low pressure switch and it didnt fix it. started to dump some refridgerant in and it took two 12oz cans to get it to cycle properly and blow kinda cold. One of the cans was with a UV dye. now I gotta hope the shop has blacklight. lol.

I didnt see anything visible, no oil or anything coming out of compressor or any connections.

Is there any typical failure point on these A/C systems or is it a crap shoot?

The shaft seal gave out on the compressor on my rig. You have look threw the clutch on the front of the compressor.

Look for oil. Most of the time you will see an oily spot where the leak is. If you have a leak detector, be sure to stick the probe into the vents with the fan on low.

That is the only way you will find a leak in the evaporator.
