A Few Serp Swap Questions

Can I just take pulley off a serp powersteering that was non hyrdo boost and put it on a hydro boost? Same with alternator pulleys

The serpintine stuff is coming off a 89 K5...Mikeysd_05s Pumpkin to be specific and going on my 83 K10. Although its only going onto a 6.2

Everything is coming off the 89 350 and going onto a 73 400.

Which brings me to my next question. When I go to get a water pump do I just get one for a 89 K5 with a 350, both are SBCs but will it just bolt up. Or do I need to find special one for that 400?


Latly Ive been thinking about the feasability of doing the serp swap right now at this point and time and am thinking about just keeping the VBelts for now and peiceing together the serp setup later.

I know you can with the alts and pretty sure you can on the power steering.

Power steering *should* bolt up as well. As long as it's a ham can style pump I think it'll work. What year was the original 6.2 again?

I have no clue on the water pump...I still have to look at a v-belt setup to see if it's reverse rotation like you said.

Sorry, I'd let you test fit mine but it went with that SBC that I sold to Terry for a customer's truck.

you'll never find a listing for a 400 for a serp. belt set up GM quit offering them before serps came out.
The serp. set up will be reverse rotation so any late 80's early 90's WP will work.

also I'm kinda confused as you listed a 350, 400 and a 6.2.... whats getting which,LOL

I got all the serp parts off a 89 - 350
Im using the Alt and Hydroboost that came on the 83 - 6.2
Its going on a 73 - 400
