A Homebrew lift

I like to think I would have the ability, I just don't have the necessary equipment, Two of the friends mentioned earlier do, but I'm not sure how on-board they would be.

More blue sky thinking ahead,

Would it be possible just to add to the leaf packs front and back? Basically to the equivalent of one ton springs?

Well that makes things easier.

Like I said, It doesn't need to be much, just enough to level it out and eliminate or lessen the need to trim the front fenders.

Currently nowhere, I'm still a senior in high school.
My current source of income is rounding up and taking in a load of scrap every other month or so, and doing a little odd job here and there.
So very little.

The Blazer is not my only vehicle, So it is no super rush on it. It's just that I got it running a lot better lately so that kind of kicked me into gear.

Why do people think that's a good excuse for not working?

If ya' want toys and the funds to have fun with them start looking for solid income. I'm not here to pretend to be anyone's parent or give great advice but even a part time job after school or on the weekends would give you enough cash in your pocket to go have fun with your truck.

Hit up Craigslist and start asking around. When some cash starts trickling in come back and we'll give you some solid advice on how to get the absolute best bang for the buck on your truck. :D

Until then leave it be and don't listen to your friends... they may be good friends but mechanics they are not.

Well you can't say it's not for lack of trying, Although one is starting to look a little more promising, its not much, a pallet factory, but it's something.

I changed tires then cooked pizzas after work when i was in HS. It helped me build version 1.0 of my truck. Which is now on version 10.0. Its not a race, enjoy it in every stage it exists in.

Great, someone has to do it so it might as well be you. Go work hard and make some truck money. :D

Irresponsible and non-roadworthy? sounds like fun!

Let me just make some blocks out of wood and use some tarp straps for shocks!

Oh, and don't let me forget to ziptie the spring packs together!

In the long run, swapping 52s or 56s in the front is not cheap. Just keep your eyes open for a used set of lifted front springs on craigslist, here, or if you are on facebook, join a local 4x4 group. Where abouts in IL are you?

EDIT: nevermind, mapquested your town, you are nowhere near me lol

I guess it would be better just to buy a new one then.

I have another friend (who is not welcomed by the other friends, he's a Ford guy) who agreed with me and said blocks would be ok on the back, just not too high. And He had a pair of 3 inch ones off a late 70's half ton Ford we would give me.
