My radio control was alot of fun. I was jumping it though and busted the steering on it. Haven't gotten back to the hobby shop to get more parts!

Re: A \"little\" 4x4 Fun .........

Yea, it's a lot of fun.

I jump it a lot and the springs seem to absorb the landing pretty well. I've had this thing cruising through puddles with water up over its tires!

Re: A \"little\" 4x4 Fun .........

Hey Stoop,

you have happened on a big subject here... There are several of us that own RC trucks. Me, Biggrey71 and Depdog to name a few. I own a Nitro (gas) powered RC10 GT Factory Team RC truck. I raced it last season at a local off-road track. It was a blast. Biggrey has a GT also. Depdog has the 4 wheel Drive Nitro powered Tmaxx. He wrote an article on ORC Chevy boards. Check it out. http://www.off-road.com/chevy/reviews/tmaxx/

Re: A \"little\" 4x4 Fun .........

and when you break that truck, it's alot cheeper to fix

fix'n finally

Re: A \"little\" 4x4 Fun .........

I am really lovin the TMAXX, it ROCKS and rolls and flips and jumps and generally takes one hell of a lot more abuse than I ever thougth it would. I have broken some parts, but if this were a real truck, jumping and doing what I have been doing with this little monster it would have been TOTALED a long time ago. Traxxas has come out with the EMAXX which is a duel motor duel 7.2 v battery elec verstion of the TMAXX, it is more suited for rock crawling than the T, abut the damn T is AWESOME. Talk about vehicle mods, there is more stuff available for R/C than real rigs. You can get just about anything on the Tmaxx made out of Aluminum or titiainium. Now for some real cool lookin rockcrawling R/C stuff, take a look at the link below

Wow! I guess you guys take everything to the extreme, huh?

Those trucks in that link look pretty cool. Mine is just a $100 radio shack toy to play with, I don't think I'll be entering it into any races or anything.

But it sure is a lot of fun to cruise it around in the dirt piles

Re: A \"little\" 4x4 Fun .........

I used to race RC cars and trucks in a city near by (Milpitas) in the early 90's I've had about 2 cars and 4 trucks. I sold everything that was still worth $$ and threw the rest away. I want to get the new Traxxas gas powered Truck it has 4 wheel steering and 4 wheel drive....It's about $400 for everything....The only problem with RC cars and trucks is they keep on coming out with new stuff, so if you want to hang with the big boy's you have to spend some extra chedder......

Re: A \"little\" 4x4 Fun .........

The one on the left is my sons, and the rest are mine. I haven't touched mine for a while but I just got our 10 year old the Tamiya Blazing Star (on left) last X-Mas so I had to get mine out of the closet and running again. The 4wd Blazing Star just had it's stock RS540 engine replaced with a Green Epic motor and really hauls some ass now. The black Tamiya Porsche is the fastest out the bunch but has limited places where it can go since it's so low. The car on the right is a 4wd Nitro called Hot Shot which I'm currently painting the body. My favorite is the blue Tamiya Clod Buster which has 4 Wheel Steer, 4wd, and dual Motors. I'm thinking about updating the Clod with a Clodzilla setup and high torque motors. Another cool thing on the Clod, is the mid-80's Chevy truck body. It wouldn't take much to make it look like a K5 with a soft top. Sorry the pics are so big.

Other RC cars I have owned in the past.
The Frog
Super Champ
RC 10
Wild Willy's
Blazen Blazer (real leaf springs and t-case)
Bruiser
(All Tamiya cars except RC10)

Re: A \"little\" 4x4 Fun .........

Holy sh!t Shawn, I haven't seen a Hot Shot in years! Nice collection! I curently have an RC10GT and an RC10T3, both with tons of stuff on them because those are my racing trucks. I also have a Traxxas Nitro Stampede for irritating the neighbors
laugh.gif
. It has a TRX-.15 with MIP 360 degree pipe, RPM chrome 3-spokes, 91 Chevy truck body, and CVDs. I have a set of Clod Buster axles with tires that I grooved. As soon as I stop spending so much money on my K5, I'm going to get the new JPS Clod chassis and some HPI 4" shocks. I'll probably get a Tekin Titan and a pair of rebuildable stock motors for it. First I need to get some new battery packs for the T3 and some fresh tires for both trucks before racing season starts. It's true, racing costs tons of money (I'm currently accepting sponsors
wink.gif
laugh.gif
), but it's tons of fun and a lot cheaper than real racing! Oh yeah, I taught Mudzer everything he knows about R/C!!!
smile.gif

Other cars I have owned:
Clod Buster (It was falling apart so I saved the axles)
Tamiya Blackfoot (original Blackfoot, I had it for 9 years until my little brother drove it off the picnic table
mad.gif
)
Tamiya Thunder Shot (4WD buggy, I broke the frame and couldnt find another)
