A little too much antagonizing lately

Eh, I thought it was funny. Sometimes the delivery is lost via the internet/text.

One of my fav sayings "if you don't want your feelings hurt, don't bring em to work"

But now they're making a big deal about cyber bullying in the news and on tv. We're a diconnected society.

My sense of humor doesn't fit here apparently.
It seems to have so far. He'll learn how this place works, or get frustrated and go elsewhere.

I suspect he has been hanging out on other forums where folks take themselves more seriously.

I have made comments here to people that would have gotten me shot at in other places.
But I did not mean it, and what was more important, they knew I did not mean it.

Heck, one of the first times I was on here a member told me to go shoot myself.
And meant it.
But, I had already been here long enough to realize he was an exception.

Since then, I have hopefully blended in here pretty good. If anybody here has had any problems with me, other than my long windedness, they have not said.

Hopefully they will if they do.

The worst part of your and his exchange, was the fact that you did give him good advice, he just blew up so fast he didn't notice it.

lol, goes hand in hand with my favorite saying...PUT YOUR PURSE DOWN! :haha:

eh, I felt if he was gonna poke fun at himself in the original post, he should expect some ribbing.. than he explodes with the e-fit...

I found his dissing of anyone "not smart enough to choose the coast guard" blah, blah, blah schtick to be highly offensive.. props to you for not blasting him...

I come from a seafaring family. My grandfather had a fleet of clipper ship type fishing smacks back in the day.

As a result, when I refer to someone in general, I tend to call them Capt'n.
Or skipper.

Drove up on a family in civilian clothes bogged to the doors in their car in beach sand one day.
Parked on solid spot, hopped out and went for the winch. Big guy got out of the car.
I had the hook in my hand, and was heading his way, when I casually said " Looks like you could use a hand, Capt'n."

He drew himself up, and informed me in no uncertain terms that he was not a a Captain, he was a Lt. Colonel!!

I stood there with the hook in my hand. Cell phones were not around yet. He had at least an hour's walk to find a phone.
I could see his wife and kid sweating in the car. Kid looked scared.

I think if it had been just him, I would have hooked the cable back up and left.
But, I could not leave that kid.

So, I said, " Well, Mr. Lt. Colonel, Sir. I can pull you out, or I can stand here saluting you. But I can't do both. Which is it going to be?"

He calmed down after that.

I tried for a long time to break that habit, but it was no use. I still use Capt'n.
