A low slung old chevy on rockwells... it can be done

You better hurry up! I want to be riding in style and comfort in Moab while we tow both our rigs at the same time :thumb:.

Knowing how fast you work, if all you really have to do is the flatbed (doesn't even need to be fully finished, just functional) and have trailer hook ups to tow my trailer around, you should have that done in no time

Don't expect too much on the comfort side of things

Does the AC work in the truck?

Martin

He said he installed a little trucker fan that can oscillate so we both don't die of heat exhaustion while we are in Moab. For some reason the scene out of Ace Venture II, while he is crawling out of the fake rino's a$$ is coming to mind :D

Is it a non AC truck, or is it just broken?

Martin

Non AC. I don't care much for AC currently. I live in western washington. It only sucks when I travel elsewhere during the summer, but I used to live in Arizona and have become more tolerant of heat. I currently feel like AC isn't really needed unless outdoor temps are above 95F. But the windows are tinted now so that should help things.

Ok guys, time to update a little bit... well for the Jimmy it's mostly wheeling pics. I attended BLAZERBASH for the first time this year in Moab, UT and let me tell you... it was a blast. My bro and I planned things out long beforehand and it made for an epic trip. I figured that if I was going to travel 1100 miles one way I was going to make it worth while.

To prep for the trip I didn't change much on the Jimmy but I did bring my new International semi so I needed to build a flat bed, and I had only 4 weekends to do it. So after slaving away on that, I got it good enough to take and headed down from Tacoma, WA to Moab like this...

I weighed it at a CAT scale and it weighed around 23.5K which is right where I assumed it would be. My best guess is 12k semi, 10k truck/trailer/camper, and about 1500lbs of gear. That should be perfect to fit my willy's on the semi like this and stay under 26k with less gear.

Anywho, I made it down on sunday and set up camp... more like our compound... it looked pretty big for only 2 people staying there.

We stayed at AreaBFE for the Price (FREE

)... don't worry I gave a healthy donation. I love that park, and definitely support what they are doing there.

So we thought we would start the week off simple, and work our way up in difficulty so ensure we got several good days of wheeling. Monday... we did poison spyder mesa... but first we had to setup our way we trekked around town and to the trails. Every time I see pics of the International setup like this it gives me wood...

Pics of Poison spider mesa (day 1)...

Steve's rig has some decent flex for a full size on 44's.

On Wednesday (day 3) we stayed at AreaBFE and did some trails there next to camp. We hit the play area, then did the short length of Brittney Spears, ran over to LockJaw, also ran Drop Kick, and then finished on Green Day. We ran with a blue buggy that ran circles around us all day, but I don't expect my boggers to compete with a lighter, sorter, narrower rig on 43" stickies. But the Jimmy works pretty good for what it is.

Thursday (day 4) it was pritchett canyon... not many pics or videos on this day. Going to the end and driving out was a long hot day.

Some other BLAZERBASH crew

Friday morning (day 5) was the meet and greet. Good to see a lot of rigs I have been seeing pics of and watching videos on for many years.

Then we hit Area BFE again, we did minor threat and then everyone wanted to do green day, so we did it again, only we hit all the hard lines this time. The ORD guys were the trail bosses and it was great to see their UA rigs work.

Mike Jazolkowski's rediculously awesome rig. Attention to detail is amazing. He was in TTC 2015 this year.

Saturday was our last day (day 6). We ran rusty nail, and then left out of gold bar rim. Got to hit some famous obstacles for the first time (crack, double whammy, etc.). Somehow double whammy is a lot smaller than I remember from when I was a kid.

Nice little drop off next to this one.

Overall everything worked great. Sometime early in the week a lost a few lug nuts on the left rear and didn't know it, I ran it for a while and ended up bending that wheel, but not bad. I planned on replacing these homemade rims anyways so maybe this will be the final straw. The semi rocked 2500 miles round trip, the Jimmy did probably 60-70 miles of trail, and I stayed 9 total nights in the pop up camper, all with no real issues. I don't expect any other wheeling trip to go that smooth ever again.

You're right, talk about an epic trip!

The semi is the shizz, that's the rig to have for long hauls for sure
