standard dually pickup

That's the problem, those rigs are very rarely "standard".
The guys that do this for a living have them modified with beefier frames, more springs, larger brakes, engine mods, exhaust brakes . . . But I guess no matter how many times you guys get told this you'll never understand those ore not "standard dually pickups"
I've said it before, I used to work for a local firm that built these rigs up for guys that haul out of auctions like that, those things are closer to mini semi's when they left our shop than they are to 1 ton dually's. Nothing "standard" but the apperance.

You are making the assumption that they modified the trucks. I personally doubt that a lot of these trucks you see have any substantial modifications. The next question is why in the world would you take a new 1-ton dually and add "beefier frames", larger brakes, and more springs, etc, etc.... when it would be cheaper to just buy a bigger truck (ie. F-450, F-550, etc....). Sure, airbags in the rear and performance boxes are easy add-ons, but "beefier frames" and bigger brakes aren't exactly quick and cheap bolt-ons. Besides, how exactly do you add "beefier frames" to a new truck???
