A possible option for guys that need a stronger 1/2 ton

I haven't really asked about a SF 9" but I figure about $2500-$3500 depending on the stuff you want in it. That's just a guess though.

James, how much is a SF 35 spline 6 lug 9"?

Take the numbers I posted and you can come close. I'm unfortunately going to be staying semi-floating for the time being with mine, although I am going 5 lug. You could probably knock off the price of the spool, but if you want a locker, those are a little more. As for changing cases out, I can't remember if a stock case can be switched to 35 spline, but everything I have read and have seen, getting a Nodular case is just about mandatory for hi-po and off-road conditions.

C-clip eliminators are a waste. A caliper will keep your axle in if you break a C-clip. If you break a shaft a C-clip eliminator is going to allow the shaft wallow around inside the tube until it destroys the C-clip eliminator, just like regular wheel bearings.

So that leaves a true full float kit complete with spindles and hubs (big money). I don't think I'd spend that much money on a half ton axle.

Good point, A rear disk conversion may be a easier and cheaper way to go to hold the axle in and its a nice brake upgrade.
