I was wondering what spark plugs you guys are running in your vortec heads, Scoggin Dickey syas to use plug # RS12YC but i cant find that one. I know that i should use plugs with the propper .708" reach. any help would be great and i would also like to use just plain champion copper pluses or plain delcos.

I'm using the Autolite platinum ones right now. I can't remember the number, but when you go in the parts store, just tell the doofus behind the counter that its for a 1996 Chevy pickup with a 350....exact same L31 heads on that truck.

The AC Delco Plat number is 41-932. This is the same thing you will get looking up a 96 chev or whatever as well. The RS12YC plug is a Champion plug.... if you go to any auto parts store you can cross-reference the number to almost any brand. I can't remeber the NGK plug that is a non-plat (V-power) plug that I used a while back... If I come across it I'll PM it to you... but cross-referencing the champion number will work.

I use AC R44LTS. This is basically the same plug that was spec'd for the original HEI engines (will come gapped a .045"), but with a long reach thread. The "L" in the part number stands for long.

Hey, what do ya know, I'm that doofus behind the counter at the parts store, hehe. I'm just ribbing ya man, been there, dealt with them. "You're telling me that you don't stock a vbelt for my truck? You do realize that that belt must have been used for over 10 years of production trucks/Blazers/Subs. Okay, I'll just check over at the other parts store." lol. Now that I work there, I found that same belt. Kinda funny. Anyway, just thought I'd crack a joke or two.

Oh yeah, wanna cacth some laughs, go ask the guy behind th counter for a water pump for a '67 Chevy Corvair. (I think that's a valid year) Real funny way to find out if someone is worthy of helping me find parts for my truck. I still get a kick out of doing that to little HS wannabe car guys. hehe So you know it all, eh?

Yea, anymore the parts store guys have a pretty bad reputation. I'm sure you're one of the guys that doesn't deserve the stereotype. It sucks man, it was the same way for me. I always used to go into Best Buy and ask the car stereo salespeople hard questions and watch them stumble. Well, when I started installing stereos there, it meant I also had to work the sales floor occasionally. Working with the dumbass's I used to make fun of was kinda weird, but oh well...at least I'm not suffering there anymore. Best Buy=The Devil.

It's okay, I don't get much opportunity to play parts expert, I'm too busy in the back being the b*tch since I'm low man on the totem pole. Oh well, that's life. Hopefully next summer I can get an internship that involves what I'll be doing for the rest of my life. BTW, anyone got any leads into the computer industry? specifically programming and/or network management?
