So as some people will know, my 700R4 went out a while back. I've been stuck without a truck for about..3 weeks? I have the deepest sorrows for people that have to go longer.
Anyway today there was a pallet at my door (I'm still with my parents) and it's from monster transmission. I'm confused as all hell. My dad said look, your brother has a nice cummins, your sister has a nice wrangler and you chose a cheap blazer, I can spot you a transmission as your father to help you, but I do have to take classes at college he said.
As much as I love it and am excited as hell to get it in, I feel bad for it I don't like taking charity from anyone even my parents. I was saving for a tranny and don't feel right not buying it myself. I almost feel like I used my parents without my knowledge. Anyway I borrowed a car and took out $500 from my savings and gave it to my dad and said I'd pay him back. It was like pulling teeth trying to get him to take it.
Anyone have any words for the situation I'm in? I like to work for everything I have and I didn't do it this time. It just feels off.
Any way while prepping my truck I f&%ked up. I'm taking off my y pipe and I forgot my right manifold has a huge crack I had wrapped up to be fixed. And I wrecked it. I do have headers sitting around I will redo my exhaust. Where the hell do you people run your exhaust? I have it dumped right by the T-case and this time I want it coming out the side perferably before the rear wheel in the sheet metal, anyone do this or have any good alternatives I really can't think of one.

There is nothing wrong with accepting a gift from your parents, especially if you didn't ask for it.
Just take it and put it in and get that truck running again.
As for exhaust, I wish I understood your question more clearly so I can answer it.
I do not like headers, but if you have them and your exhaust is a mess use them, if the exhaust is good and you can just get a manifold and replace it and all will be good I say do that.
You can find them easy enough at Pick n Pull for little cost, and you don't have to spend too much on exhaust to fix it.
If you are talking about where it dumps at the end, there is one location I recomend..... The original stock location on the side, the only way I found not to kill you with fumes.

I'm going to use the headers, but Idk where to run it. Currently its dumped by the T case. I want to run a pipe out the side before the wheel well but I have no clue how to run it there

The cheap way of doing exhaust is the dynomax kit that duals it out and can be bought to work with headers.

As far as the gift, accept it, simple as that, ever think you might be robbing the one giving the gift of the satisfaction of helping his boy out? Sure offer to pay him back and if he refuses back down the pridefulness a couple notches and be gratefull he wants to help

Take the gift. He's also not going to want you starting a new project on the exhaust. If the trans goes in, he prolly wants to see it running. The dual exhaust will not be smog legal if it originally came with a single.

that's a tough place to exit
the frame, leaf springs, and body are all in the way
Mine dumps just after the axle and low enough to miss the gas tank. I only get fumes with the rear window down on the freeway

As a parent, it would be the greatest gift of all to know my son would want to pay me back for helping him when he needed it, though I would probably not want to accept the money either. Throw Dad a bone and accept his generosity.

Listen to your Dad, accept his gift, and go take some college classes, he's proud of you and trying to help.

I had my dad take the blazer for a drive sunday (cuz he has owned many of them and loves em) and when i got in it afterwards i saw my empty gas tank from the weekend at the dunes was magically full.... Now it was real nice of him and i accepted it and said thanks, but i know what you mean about people giving you things and you feeling like you owe them. But if all he said was he wants you to take some classes, that sounds like a deal, and now you have a badass tranny that should last a while. Just make sure to set the tv cable right so you dont ruin it!:thumb:

He doesn't care about what I do with the exhaust, he said do what I want but thatll be my problem

A fathers gift......I think that is pretty awesome. I am excited about when I have the opportunity to do this for my kids.

It's cool that he obviously put some time and thought into it so that makes it even more awesome...:waytogo:

Well he snuck my 500 back on me. So I went down to pep boys (who now has a speed shop?) and they had a Banks Muffler for his 2002 duallie, so I bought that and left it where he left my money....on his pillow. Anyway he loved it thanked me and said were even once I take college classes. Sooooo awesome! On a different note, Banks stuff is some expensive stuff.
