A thing of beauty...bad a$$ chevy inside!

The first pics look like the trucks gone wild group out of florida.

It is.

Have any of you guys seen the DVD's? They look pretty cool but I'm too cheap to order one since the tranny's gone. :doah:

not tractor tires. combine tires. but still big. thay are about 6ft tall.
Take another look at the pics with people standing beside the tires. More like 5' tall tires instead. Otherwise the guys in the pics would be over 7' tall, each one. :haha:

what i wana know is the tread depth and how many miles the tires on the crewcab will last haha

I ran the numbers through www.4lo.com and converted the metric over to standard and it spit this out...

900/60R32

Diameter: 74.5"
Section Width: 35.4"
Section Height: 21.2"

but not a clue as to the tread depth. Anyone know?

Those tires on that Chevy are Rice and Cane tread tires. They are designed for MUD, as you can see in my last pic. That is my rice combine in the muddy rice field, where the tires are doing their intended job, not on a Chevy sitting on a drag strip.

I can guarantee you that, that Chevy is nearly useless in a tug of war competition on hard ground like that. Rice and cain tread is very round, not square like a bogger. Also, the lugs are VERY tall, mine are around 3-4" deep, and the actuall rubber at the top of the lug that touches the road surface is minimal. They are designed to sink in the mud and for them to work as paddles, almost like a sand tire.
It's like a tire with nothing but stilts touching the road surface.

For the guys that caught that Lucas on the edge show, you will notice that all the trucks with rice and cains got drug around like they had street tires worn to the cords.;)

As far as the chevy being badass, just because it's tall with big tires doesn't make it cool in my book. Most of those trucks on that show had very little quality engineering. Looked like a bunch of okies out there.

Thanks for the history 101 there. I seemed to remember seeing someone's avatar that was ag realted, guess it was you. It says your in central cali....are you around Fresno?

Oh, and something being bad a$$ is all opinion. What one person thinks looks cosmetically cool is different than someone else's opinion as you know. So I'm not surprised that some of you guys and gals don't necessarily like it.

I'm about 100 miles north of Fresno, and I would agree.
