NON Chevy’s in the Wild

The body from the A-pillar on back is all FJ80 w/o the wheel well flare option. It’s got the coil sprung high-pinion 8” setup up front and the full-floater 9.5” offset rear axle outback - good ole L/C stuff.
The front end treatment is from an aftermarket company out of Japan I think.

Not all the foreign market L/C’s got those fender mounted side marker lights like JDM and some European ones did - don’t know why their D.O.T. mandated them but I like them.

The AISIN hubs ( very good outer 30-spline hub design ) came on all those foreign market versions as well as an HF1A part-time transfer case instead of our HF2A all wheel-drive version. Just a sidebar - both of those cases gear sets ( 2.57:1 ) are pretty damn impressive for the weight rating these things are.

Spotted this set of ‘68’s today and both sounded GREAT !
Looked like a husband and wife duo - wife was in the Mustang.

The Mustang put it on the mat to catch up after the ElCamino walked it sideways while on the bridge - it was very cool !

Saw this at PUBLIX today and was impressed until I saw the 4-lug wheels - just a FOX BODY chassis version.

But than I thought that it’s better than the one I got… I’m driven a Toyota and this guys driving a heavily modified Mustang from the eighties with a gorgeous classic COBRA body - I should not be so judgmental.

I t did look good though.
