AAM full float vs 14 bolt full float

On the AAM 10.5, do the rotors slide on like the older GMT400 drums?

I wonder if the rotor hat depth is the same on the AAM axles between SAE and metric bolt patterns?

Ultimately what I am getting at is an easy method to get one of the newer AAM 14Bolt SRW 10.5” rear axles that has the 4” diameter tubes and swap out the metric pattern hubs for the 8x6.5” pattern hubs that were OEM disc brake equipped hubs.

I’m not comparing anything to the old 14Bolt axles or about when the pattern changed to metric .
I am curious about hub compatibility from newer AAM axles that both came equipped with disc brakes - one being the 8x6.5” pattern v/s the other being metric ?

Thanks, Tom
The factory disc brake with internal parking brake in the hat aam IS 8x6.5. All the way up to 2011.

GM changed the 8 lug bolt pattern from 8 on 6.5 to 8 on 170mm wheel spacing in the 2011 model year.

Right but he’s questioning interchangeability of the hubs between pre and post 2011 axles. If the hubs interchanged then there’d be none of the mixed pattern hardships (ex; 2008 8x6.5 hubs on a 2022 axle).

This is a 2003 aam 10.5. It’s 8 on 6.5. The only thing metric is the threads of the studs. They are 14mm instead of 9/16.

I highly doubt it.

Yes, I understand that disc setups came in both patterns but as John pointed out my question is the hub interchangeability between the pattern and year differences.

I’ve got a c&c old school 14 bolt in the backyard. If I ever have time, I’ll see if the hub can swap with one of my aam’s

Ok, the only 2011+ axle I have is the 11.5 aam on my dually, so no way for me to check that.
That’s a totally different huge 8 on 210mm monster

I just read something on torque king that they changed wheel bearing size on the ‘11 up also, so probably not gonna happen.

lol, same here.

Maybe provide an exampe (with years) of what you would like to do? As of now, I'm confused.
Ya mean like this - taken from earlier in this thread.
