I am going to pick up a diesel Jimmy this weekend, when I looked at it I seem to remember the fuel gauge saying 3/4 full, how true that is I do not know. It has been sitting for about a year or so.

Anything I should bring with me to put in the fuel tank?

It starts just fine and runs pretty for the short test drive I took

I would bring at least one bottle of Power Serve(white bottle), use the whole bottle and then top off with fresh fuel, put a new filter on too. Bring extra fuel filters and a way to change them out too. The additive and fillup with mix up any thing settled in the bottom of the tank but the filter should catch it.

I've run my 6.5 on 4 year old fuel just was super heavy on the additive. It did smoke more then normal for the older fuel but ran fine otherwise.

I would not really worry about year old diesel. at all.

long as it didn't get filled with rain water. it'll be fine enough. maybe some algea. just look at the clarity.

My K5 has about 25 gallons of 2 year old diesel in it. Just smokes a little when I let it run ever few weeks..

One thing that can happen to old diesel is algae growing and plugging the filter. So changing the filter now, then again in a month after you have run a tank or two of fresh fuel would not hurt.
