ABS Conversion

Any info out there on adding ABS to my 82 K20?

I have a 1991 K5 with ABS (I think) and am wondering if it is worth pulling (before it goes to the crusher) and putting in my k20?


Any advice? I am not really sure how the system even works so I don't know, yet, what parts to pull.

Its a seperate system from the motor ECM, right?

I'm pulling the pedal assembly for an auto conversion and thought I may want to add the ABS if its not a hassle...

ACK! NO! BAD!

Seriously, it's a pretty miserable ABS. It's rear wheel only, and is famous for failing ... not that it does much. The only truck I ever had with it kept popping codes and it was easier to disconnect it and treat it like a normal system.

Yeah, I wouldn't want it. Even my S10 is popping codes, and it doesn't even have ABS! Figure that one out.
