On the way from work on Friday my ABS light/chime started to go off. My DD is a 2003 Chevy 2500HD Silverado, usally I don't have any problems with it. But I found out after spending $800 to fix a problem, GM has EIGHT computers operating in my truck. I took my truck to a trusted mechanic friend of mine the following day and he worked on it all day. At first the diagnostic computer said three sensors are bad in my truck. Mike my mechanic isolated each one and tested each with a volt meter while drining the truck. It seemed like only the front passanger side sensor was bad. Here's rub #1 GM use to sell the ABS sensor separate from the axle hub... no more now you have to buy a whole new hub when the sensor goes south. So $600+ and 3 hours later the truck seems fine and I drive away all not happy but satisfied. An hour later and 30 miles away the ABS goes off again. Sine then it has gone on and off whenever it wants to. Has anyone had this happen or knows how to stop it. I'm really getting pissed at the undependablity ofmy DD.
