We all have had discussions about the increasing price of C/K trucks and Blazers. Hagerty's appraisals of the value of them and the top value of a factory new pristine condition example of what vehicle it is.

Now, here is an example of Hagerty's top worth of a truck in pristine condition and what this truck actually sold for in an auction.

I think this says two things...throw out what a truck sells for at an auction, and secondly, if you are gonna sell your truck, sell it at an auction.

It went for twice what Hagerty values the top notch pristine like new perfect condition truck.

The 69 K5 on BAT is REALLY nice. Been following that build on Instagram. Hogieshine does some really nice work on 67-72’s. He was expecting it to go $175k - $200k+ at Barrett Jackson.

I'm a fan of the classic cars that get used and are built to be used. They don't bring the same price but have real character and real stories.

This is from one of the comments on that red K5:

Some people presumably in the passenger car camp have a difficult time grasping the present market value of these K5s. When you look at how long the original Broncos have been commanding eye watering prices it should come as no surprise. In fact, I wonder why it took the market this long to discover K5s, which were arguably better vehicles at the time than the smaller Bronco. There’s also value in use with vintage SUVs you don’t get with other vehicles. This Jimmy will bring more attention to the owner than one of the dozens of 911s that rotate through BAT each month and with your family aboard.

Unlike models such as the Corvette or Mustang, there’s a big knowledge gap in terms what’s original on first gen K5s. Very few individuals harbor any detailed knowledge of what’s factory correct and there are no reference texts aside from what’s available in the factory assembly manual and the chassis repair manual. Apparently this gap hasn’t kept buyers from enthusiastically bidding up the average however. Perhaps we’ll see greater scrutiny of or a premium on originality in the wake of the increasing values.

I agree

"Would this have brought a third this money 6 or 7 years ago? These must clearly be investment rocket ships of late. Scratching my head. Reckon this one headed higher!
Wow congrats seller!"

Good fun reading the comments. A lot of people concerned about cut dash. I like that 90s tape player, that's more "period correct" then original if you ask me.
