AC Condenser question..

Yeah Im in Arizona, maybe not as humid, still running the tube and fin.
Qualify, dual a/c and still r12.

New type Four Season A6 replacement compressor.
Also have a 10" elec pusher fan on condenser.

Back in 2000's I converted a fleet of trucks to r134a. All we did was flush new oil and add fittings.
No complaints about performance.
While most of our trucks were coastal side so cal, many in boulder nv, Mohave Ca, Owens Valley. Hot places sure, humidity not so much.

I am an AC noob so I have to ask, how do you flush the oil? I've mainly just replaced components and tried to add a certain amount to the component itself so I don't know too much. I have to swap my '93 to 134 soon and will need to know how to flush the old oil out.

Make sure you have tub and fin if you pln on flushing, you cant flush these newer PF ones, just replace them.

But flush the rest with air to get most out, then use product of choice, some guys used product designed for ac flush, some use denatured alcohol some mineral sprits,

Flush several times and even flap rag with hand over other end to give it some vibrations. Change out all the ORings and make sure put oil on them before reassembly, also swap your orifice cause them are cheap. Unless you have VoV but i ts prolly good swop it out aswell if you got one.

Before reassembly make sure you blow out any remaining solvents, shops blow iut tubes with nitrogen or co2 but air will work just let it air dry a while where it wont get dusty before reasembly.

Also new rubber hoses with barriers for 134 be a good idea and flush everythjng disasembled piece by piece.

If you see black specs anywhere get new compressor

Vacuum will boil off remaining water from system aswell if left on long enough. Some water gets in from air compressor blowing.

Anyone know where to get good butyle tape to remount ac box with? I was thinkin just using stuff leftover from metal building but not sure of up or downsides.

Hey i found a good PF condenser for blazers made by original Air, its $280 but exact fit and size of factory, but its only a 3 pass, kind of pricey but being a 3 pass might not need electric fans. I think im gonna stick with my original one and may see if i can get some r-12 from mexico.

I'm changing everything on my 87 K5 to 134A. Looking at condenser's I see a lot of talk about going with a parallel flow as opposed to the one in it (tube and fin). Can anybody advise me on a part number ?
converted my 87 to 134a and didn’t change the condenser or any other parts
Just changed the pile put the conversion fittings on and that’s it
Works very well in 110* Northern California heat
