I wanna remove this big ole turd. But its the tensioner for for the ps pump belt, so ill need some type of pully and bracket to mount it to? Anybody know of anything?

I dont really wanna go serp. I like the ease of v belts and that the whole system isnt shut down if one brakes.

are you sure ? ? ?

v-belt system is just a shorter belt and the p/s pump should have adjustment points on it .

I think im missing the a bracket to make the ps pump adjustable. Ive been told that before. But where its at with the brackets I have, it is just solid bolted in.

My ac compressor is the adjustor. Only reason its still on there.

But id like to ditch the weight of it, and get the condensor out to let the radiator breathe better.

take pics of pump setup

lots of times there is 1 piviot next to or on h20 ump.

then 1 at the bracket on the exhaust header / manifold.

and last one people don't seem to find is bottom below the pump body/tank.

I think you might be surprised . I could be wrong tho.

What they said, you have to take about 4 bolts loose to pivot the power steering pump(one in the back, one in the outside front, one in between the PS pump and water pump, and the pivot bolt), and you can ditch your AC compressor. If you really can't adjust you PS pump, then I would find the brackets so you can (bolt on) and you are good to go.

Ok, ill have to look. Its been a long time. I just remember for some reason, I couldn't get it to pivot.

prob cause you spend to much time here web wheelin . :haha:

Lol. I just don't spend much time under the hood as its ran pretty well lol.

I probably will replace the pump and lines while I'm in there. It's still the same one that was in it when I got the thing. And there was no cap on it :eek1:
