adaptors for ls metric thread sensor ports

87 might be a 2x sender 1 for gauge and 1 for oil pressure to keep tbi fuel pump going if relay fails when running .

otherwise its a cheep sender. prob can use one from 80's vintage and still work . just go away from the 87 if you want.

The problem with coolant temperature sensors and adapters is they pull the probe out of the water supply and reading is off. Can't just have the tip of sensor wet, does not work.

Ok..........help me out here. I bought a BWD part # s4049 (stock sending unit for 87) it is a electrical sender right? And I read LS motors will not work with an elec sender it's 3/8 npt, also I bought a 2268 auto meter adaptor should I buy a hole new mechanical gauge with sender from auto meter and scrap the stocker? I'm way over thinking

Go to the hardware store and get a 1/4 to 3/8th npt adaptor. They are 4 or 5 dollars. Bring your sender and autometer adaptor. Make sure they will all screw together and buy that adaptor.

If my sender will work I can just tap the adaptor I have now, I'm confused if the one I have will work.

Metalneverdies do you have any of your wiring done yet? I'm dreading that the most.

I am essentially done. Just waiting to drop motor in place and cut all my wires to length. That way it is all neat. Several wires I have not physically attached to their respective circuits yet just because of that reason. All are ready to go though.

stock oil sender from ls / gut it . drill and tap center hole for 1/8" pipe and bam its your new metric to American adaptor and low pro .
