I'm having problems with my K5 electrical system. The truth is, I'm using a sh*t ton of electrical things in my truck (stereo, 2 amps, winch, spot light, etc) and I'm pretty sure there's not enough power supplying them all. I don't think the factory wiring harness was meant to be hacked and cut up to add on all my toys.

So, it makes sense to add an additional wiring harness / fuse block for my "toys", and I need help from you guys in doing so. I'm hoping one of you guys has done this before and can guide me. I want to run power from my battery (Optima red top (1000 ca)) back to the firewall. From here I want to be able to tie in my amps, cig lighter for spot light, and a few other toys.

Can you guys post some pics and/or tell me where to order such a wiring setup from? I'd appreciate any help you can send my way. Thanks guys, and have a good weekend.

I was thinking about adding something like this:

Try 12voltguy.com He is VERY easy to deal with and always suplies a great product. I just ordered an 8 circuit fuse block from him and I am VERY pleased with the product.

i went to my hardware store and ran a power wire to a junction block that splits into 8 seperate fused hookups with a blde connector.works good and if something shorts out its on a 20 amp fuse.i can change the fuse to whatever i want since it is a blade style for different apps.

Don't forget, you can only pour water out of a bucket for so long unless you have more water than that running back in.

Make sure your alternator can put out enough to run everything you are drawing, plus charge the battery, with a little headroom left over.

Also, make sure the setup is fused close to the power source with the correct size fuse for the supply wire.

A nice hot fire will cure your need for more power, but not in a good way.......
