Advice needed: Fix or replace transfer case brace?

Noticed the brace that runs from my transfer case, to the transmission on my '91 K5 was broken.

Ideas on how to fix, or a source online for a replacement brace?

I have a welder, drill press, etc.

What says the hive?

I would clean metal up really good and weld it up. Make it work for you!

Weld it up. Can always replace if it doesn't work out.

Worst that can happen by failing to fix it is you have to replace it anyhow. If you're concerned about structure throw a little extra metal on there while you're at it.

Bolts were alot longer than I expected, reinforced it, welded it up, and put on a fresh coat of paint.
