I've found this 60 front out of an 84 gmc for $800. good/bad deal? It has a broken drivers side 30spline outer and seems to have a little surface rust but is a reasonable price for here in so cal. Any thoughts?

that sounds like a good deal- not that it is a good price, but considering all other options that is a good deal around these parts. Always best not to have to ship one
