Get EFI live if you can with the DSP5 switch. Best way to go for a DMAX.
EFI Live is the best route for most, just not me. With all the adjustments I'd screw with it all the time.
Better off going with the the Duramax-for-dummies approach with a simple tuner. I'd be pretty content adding a EGT probe and I'm trying to keep this as close to stock as possible & finish up some other projects. Have to see how that goes.
I gotcha. I had a simple edge evolution cts on my powerstroke. Downloaded the tow tune and left it.
Sounds like a good approach. Despise working on my dd or tow vehicles for some reason but still end up modding all of them anyways.
Mines rather old, no idea on the newer stuff, but my Edge Juice +Attitude has served me very well. Got several generalized tunes for all needs, with a bit of tweaking available for each (low boost fueling, defuel high gears, defuel at temp, etc.). I configured mine in ~2003, and other than picking the tune I want at the moment, and IIRC, haven't touched it since...
