Anybody that has mounted them in the stock locations, could you post some pics? im trying to get a idea how they could be mounted. Id like to try and keep them in the stock location.

Thanks guys.

Cheap ones in the truggy project . The small size fits the bezel , and the clamps on the back just need the legs bent a little . The cluster needed trimming of the lens .

I bought one of those aluminum dash cover's from LMC and then machined the holes where the gauges go to accept the larger diameter of the autometer gaugues. I then had to knock out the plastic bezel behind it to accomodate the gauges but left it intact around the outside to keep it all looking good. I then just hooked up the sending units and lights and routed them all through the firewall. Looks real good. I'll post up some pics when i get home.

I like that and I dont, I like the teloscope look the stock setup has.

Thanks guys keep them coomin. :D

I think the gauges need to be angled towards the driver if you surface mount them;)

There are a couple of great threads on this. The dash Ryoken is making looks preety good as well:bow:

the one dash mount you'd have to be layin onthe floor to see. i don't like that. if they turned em up like Ryoken's i'd be impressed

welli have a way but it was done before i bought it. i'll have to take a pic and show ya. it involves some brackets and what looks like liquid nail???

If you could, that would be awesome. Im having trouble visualizing how to clamp them on.:haha:

Found that link in a search here, amazing when you post a thread you don't think about searching.:haha: When you put them in the stock location how do they stay up? Paul mentioned a clamp.

That dash is by far the best use of the stock bezel I have seen... those pics have been floating around the internet for years now... I have em on the comp somewhere...

Tho he says he wasn't happy with the mounting of them, and was looking to redo it... He used a wire method to hold them in place... You could probably plastic-weld some brackets to the back if you where skilled in it... Another choice believe it or not, would be to silicone them in.. We do it on boats a fair amount in odd mounts.. I'm talking clear silicone from a caulk tube, not RTV.. A nice big fat bead around the backside works very well... Tho that wouldn't work in the way he mounted his, but would work if you where putting them thru the front...

The reason I went thru the hassle of my dash was the angle thing bugged me of the flatpanel.. At first glance to someone who doesn't know anything, it looks killer.. I just couldn't deal with having them face my belly..

Someone here has done the flatpanel but used the Autometer angle rings too, and that came out nice, maybe he'll post up...

Hopefully, I'll be giving you guys another option, come X-mas... :wink1:

Mounted mine in the metal piece that reflects light back onto stock gauges and cut the backing plastic out. Also added small metal piece to keep light on stock gauges and hacked up the printed wires basicly got rid of what I didn't need. Now that was the fun part. :haha: :D
