One of the things I find myself needing is a AGM battery or some type of sealed battery.

I have seen the second hand ones. I'm not sure where to get them, any ideas.

I don't need the best but rather the best value.

I have a stock alternator, so a decent battery is needed for winching.

Also my not a ton of room for a battery so I want a sealed battery for safety reasons, among other reasons

I like buying my batteries from Costco, good batteries and "satisfaction guaranteed". I also like Costco, never know what kinda goodies you're gonna find.

all sealed bats are AGM... people seem to like the odysseys... they are always going to be more than a wet battery cost-wise..

My next battery will be an Interstate AGM. Not sure about best value :dunno: . But cheaper than an optima, and Interstate is just my go-to.

I think I'm going to go with the Autocraft AGM from Advance Auto. Good reviews on it and Advance has been sending me a 20% off coupon regularly.

When winching most do it at idle speed. The alt wont be doing max output then maybe half. With a good batt AND big alt that would be best. My plow truck with 100amp and 1,000cca batt would drop off in under 30min . It couldn't keep up at low rpm ranges . I got a 200amp unit that does 125amp down low and 210 maxed out . Been doing great now over 10 years .

I have put an AGM in all the vehicles ive had over the last few years. I have had a Diehard Platinum from sears that I bought 7 years ago. It was in my jeep, sat on a shelf for 4 years getting used for random jump start or compressor power, then went in my square body, and then the gmt400. Never had an issue and always started no matter how cold. You cant get the Diehard platinum anymore but you can still get the Odyssey its made from. Diehard just re-branded the odyssey with a gray case and their own stickers.

My last cummins got two Autocraft AGM from advanced auto. They worked great with no complaints for the 2 years I had them before I sold the truck.

Ill probably put some batteries in my truck before I move. Between interstate and Autocraft.

Ive heard great thing about exide

Odyssey are my first choice well that and the x2 but I need a less expensive battery than those. Been looking a bit.

Anyone ever seen the no name ones? I've seen a couple just not sure where to get em. Maybe they are factory sevonds?

I always get Deka Intimidator AGM batteries. Had 2 in the K5 for about 7 years, have had 2 in the crew cab for about 6 years and counting, 1 in the 66 for over a year, and 1 in the 73 for about 6 months. They run a little under $200. I've never had a problem with them.

My Duracell AGM is an effing trooper! It fell out literally 2 seconds after the pic in my avatar smashing whoops years ago and sliced the radiator hose and the battery got cut open in by the fan.

@Richcz28 pulled me back to the beach, @76zimmer and @jekquistk5 and @swettysblazer helped me fix the radiator hose, we put some gorilla style black duct tape on the hole in the battery and the damn thing still works!! I gotta trickle charge it these days, but its literally had duct tape covering a hole for what 4 or 5 years now??? Solid $300 battery IMO.

I've had my Optima for 5 years now and no issues. I will not sell another Odyssey battery as long as I live. I can't stand them. If for some reason it gets drawn down, good luck getting it back to life.
