Air compressor in a truck??

I would think the compressor from any semi truck could easily be perma installed and they are plenty durable and inexpensive, and have a 90% duty cycle. You could even incorporate the glad hand system to add a removable tank or increase tank size in case you would need more room. Keep in mind you will want to run an underdrive pulley on the deisel compressor as they only rev to 3grand max in most cases but with a little fore thought it would be an easy install. As far as storage tanks, I would think a low profile tank like a contractors compressor from harbor freight. They should hold enough air to use most air tools, with very little wait time between uses.

What ever you choose on board air is a nice thing to have.

Heres my scuba tank (used for paintball fill ups)
Im gonna mount it on round brackets behind my rear seat, its even got the adapter on top for quick disconnects. Should work great, i forgot i had it lol.

I have on board air just running the factory A/C compressor with a oiler, works great no issues or problems. When it burns up I have three more compressors to replace it. Turn on the A/C the compressor turns on

I bought a little compressor with a tank from Harbor Freight and used the tank, fitting and pressure relief valve and it works great. Have a blue air hose that runs to the back with a fitting by the rear bumper and a line to the front with a fitting and a fitting under the hood. It has a gauge and the relief valve mounted on the inner fender, might have $80 into the whole system.
