air compressor - water problem

OK guy's know it has probably been asked before but what do you do to keep water out of your hard lines? auto tank drains, crazy condenser idea, after cooler you made up with fan etc I wanna know!!!! I have it ran all way up the ceiling across and down in 3 spots but when I run my blaster,die grinder etc for long period of time water starts coming out and I am trying to find cheaper ideas to fix. Yes read and seen after cooler over on G/J but not 100% on it yet. Any one wanna chime in for me?

I have heard old school coil like a alcohol still uses to condence the gas to liquid . but in this use water turns to bigger drops and hits coil and runs down the coil to drain at bottom .

water is not so much a function of what's in the tank.. as what's being created in the lines... tho consistent draining of the tank is always a good thing, auto-drains are no magic cure that you can't achieve with scheduled diligence....


you can generally have a fair amount of water in the bottom of the tank before you start to see it out your tools...

if you have multiple up/down runs with drains at each, and are still getting water, you need a decent desiccator at the last output.. and a inline water separator at the tool handle is always a plus...

the biggest contributor to water at the tools, is temp/humidity..

Can you recomm affordable decent desiccator and when you say last out put do you mean before it goes to the 3 different outlets to plug my hoses in? Yes we have both in NC Ryoken.

at your last down tube, before your outlet couplings...

as good a separator as you can afford..


I run an oldschool binks I got cheap on Eghey right off my tank and VERY rarely get water.....

one of these days I'll actually plumb a true system...

Thanks will look into that. My compressor is little different from yours as where your valve is in pic my is up top.

that's even better.. farther away from water in the tank... the compressor may be creating more heat than mine, thus more water...


as a be all-end all catch try running seperator filters at your tools.. invaluable for painting... they do a good job of catching the final bits...

Gotcha will try your ideas with few others. Wish I would of got the 2 stage 80 gallon compressor but this one works ok for now and price has gone up since I bought mine 5 years ago and mine still looks new and runs great.
