I have a 97 Suburban with a 350. I purchased an Airaid Cold Air Intake for $130.00 after my rebate. The K&N is like $260.00. My question is the Airaid replaces everything from the MAF sensor forward where as the K&N also replaces the tube from the MAF back to the throttlebody. Do you think the K&N is worth the extr $130.00?

I don't think either is worth the money. I had an K&N FIPK on my s10, ended up taking it off and EBaying it. If the engine isn't getting outside air, only engine compartment air, you're going backwards.

Are they both CARB approved? That is the only reason I could see if the K&N has the EO number and AIRAID doesn't.
If they both have it. You are buying a name and I don't think K&N is a better product.

Got a K/N on my 97....its loud  :waytogo:

Next truck I put one on will def. have an enclosed box though.

Just like with the word Flowmaster, paying for the more popular advertising, K&N spends a lot on advertising, so they're more well known. Then they can charge more.

There is a K&N installed in the Avalanche, but it was in there from the previous owner, cold air box setup, so far it works fine, easily washable, I kind of like that.
