Alaska Build

good to know. still figuring out what parts are interchangeable. might have to break my rule and put these on the Credit Card.

what is the difference between the 52" and 56" besides the 4". 52 have a rougher ride?

56" are better. Those are rear springs those, and that lift kit uses blocks, so it doesn't matter what length of rear springs you have.

Okay, so I started up the 91 burb just to make sure it was still running and noticed a gas leak at the return fuel line on the TBI. long story short the fitting on the end of the return line was cross threaded. have not been able to find a replacement line. Anyone have a part number? or am I now going to have a braided line made up?

I have one of those on an old parts truck. It has been open for a few years, but I am sure it would clean up fine.

I think I got the threads on the line fitting cleaned up. the fitting into the throttle body is a no go. looks like someone put a little JB Weld in there to hold things together.

have not been able to find one at any of the auto parts stores. not sure if the GM dealer will have one. Put the word out to the salvage yards to see if they might have one. Is this part year specific. or will any return fitting fit for a 5.7 EFI?

Have to start figuring out what hard to find items I need to keep an eye out for.

I have one from when I installed my fuel pressure gauge. Have you thought about installing a fuel pressure gauge?

Martin

yew, I have thought about adding the gauge in. However, the problem I have is with the return which is smaller than the inlet. right? or is my setup really messed up.

found the "TBI Fuel Nut" on Premium Auto site. Just $50 to my door. :-(
and tomorrow I will be ordering the Lift kit above and shocks. that should round out the suspension for the 90. Now some new front seats and some body work and she should be ready to roam around Colorado for the summer. thinking about dropping in a bigger motor over the summer. have not decided. Don't think I can swing an 8.1L. might look for a Cadillac 500 or just drop in a 454.

Guess I should have asked first. Was a bit frustrated that I could not find one.

Never thought of a 5.3. Figured with the weight a BB would move it more efficiently.
Guess i need to do a little more research before i start anything and wast more money.

if the front springs are the same for the 1/2 ton and 3/4 then i will go with the first link and trust the knowledge here. Don't need to spend more money then i need.
Just not sure what is interchangeable. Also need to replace the shocks as well.

okay, was looking at the page a little closer and saw the options section for the 3/4 ton. Not sure if the guy that was helping me was really helping. :-)

Going to go with the recomendation and pick this up. any recomendations on shocks? i have the dual front shocks, for what it is worth.

Only run a single shock in the front. In the auxiliary position.

spring kit arrived yesterday. time to pull the jeep out of the shop and get ready for the swap. need to make sure I got everything lined up for the swap. might have to bribe a buddy to come over and help. also, have to take some time to go look at a buddy's 64 impala 2 door hardtop. he finally ready to part with it. last I saw it had the start of rust on the quarters... but think I can get it at a good price. he just put up a 60x100 shop and needs a concrete floor.
