ALDLdroid

I had heard someone was working on that, looks good. Saves from having a laptop!

Sucks that you can't do real time tuning, but that will probably come, if the interest stays there for the product.

Looks cool. I'm definitely interested in something like that.

that would be the best part vs trying to find a safe place to stash a laptop.

ALDL Droid works great for real-time data!!

I ordered the ALDL bluetooth adapter from red devil river, to connect with my Samsung S3.
I was then able to successfully connect with the ECM and run realtime data on the Droid phone...I'll have a real snap-shot of my set-up, but I'll post a screenshot from the ALDLDroid site... It works great and you can set your "dashboard" to any gauge set-up you like.

I purchased the app. Gonna use my usb cable for now. Worked great in the driveway. Seriously thinking about using this to run a tablet in lieu of guage cluster. Well I'd still need a fuel level & oil press guage. I don't know, seems like geeky fun to have a touch screen guage cluster. :doah:

With some work I'm not sure that oil pressure and fuel level couldn't be done as well, although I'm not the one that could modify the binary to make it happen. :)

Interesting idea.

I want sure if those were signals the ECM recieves.

Took me awhile to figure out that double tapping the screen is the way to edit the dashboard. Couldn't figure out why I didn't have the option to have the guage looking display. Now I got it.

Don't recall any apps that had an oil pressure input. Corvettes had an oil temp input, and I was told that could be added to other ECM's (as I understand it, depends on the actual hardware of the ECM as to which can be programmed for that sort of stuff), so that leads me to believe that it may be possible to add those as an ECM input...but the tank and pressure sender are 0-90 ohm, all the ECM inputs I can think of (TPS, CTS, MAF, MAP, etc) are all reference voltage setups...the ECM feeds the sensor 5V, whatever voltage makes it back to the ECM is how the data is interpreted.

Depending on the ECM/PCM and how much work has gone into dissasembly of the code? It's easy to replace something in the data stream that is useless like the Prom ID or O2 cross counts and replace it with something needed.

Like the 1227747 $42 ECM used in 87 to 91 Chevy trucks. I re-wrote some data stream code to get rid of those and included Spark Advance and the fuel BPW, now the BPW is not real handy but with it and adding another value and conversion math you have IDC Injector Duty Cycle! This will tell you if you are running out of fuel during WOT high RPM runs.

I am looking at ordering the BT aldl adapter and the app. Two questions.

1. I have looked with no luck. where is my ecm for a 91 burb 5.7

2. The app says make sure you have the Adx file from tuner pro before purchasing. I can find the xdf but no adx.

3. I plan to use BT to my tablet but tuner pro well be on a Older laptop that only has usb. I am guessing I could save the files on the tablet then transfer them over to laptop?

Ok I must be blind. Will have to look again tomorrow. Looks like I should just sign up at gearheadefi. I need to find the adx file for (1227165) as well.

thanks eaglemark
