Overlooked details. Old paint on the baseplate from going through tech in Stock Eliminator. Gotta seal those carbs so they know if you’re a cheater!!

So if that’s a q-jet they know you can change jets and rods without taking the carb off the baseplate right?

Yes. What they’re checking is that you don’t put a bigger base plate on it after they checked it

I'm assuming that's you on the left with the 1.89 60? Nice work, except for the red light...good ET though with a tidy 60 foot!

Yes Rene…car 114
Lights don’t really matter as it’s just test and tune.
My next pass spun the tires, but not blew em off so I stayed in it.
Best mph ever.
Some Fukin Ford watered the starting line so we’re cleaning up

A couple my best passes ever….
yeah I know its only 12.20’s but I'm pretty happy with the car right now!
There was a really cool Vette next to me, didn’t see what he ran, but looks pretty sweet.
There were two Chevelle SS there running in the 12’s and 13’s, and a 427 AC Cobra my buddy said ran 12.teen’s at 120.

For conversations sake.…I think my build of the engine is pretty spot on, building for mid-upper rpm power….but what are your thoughts?
Cam is spec’d for 3000-6800, and when launching at 1500, I dont spin (20# tp) but at 2000 I spun twice, not enough to go up in smoke, but it added .18 on my 60’. I didn't want a torquey down low engine for that reason, because of such a narrow tire. I’m thinking at 2000rpm, I’m building more power than the tires can handle, but not at 1500.
thoughts?

Unbelievable what a small set of drag radials will do for your 60 ft times. That 1.89 is good, but with your mph, it would be nice to see consistent high 1.70's . My Uncles car ran 1.77 60 ft, on a 255/50-16 drag radials on stock Firebird wheels.

One other thought. Be careful trying to high mph on a very small tire. When your car is pushing wind at the end of the track, you can lose traction and crash on the top end. A buddy, was watching his friend at Bandimere, from the high up pits. From a 1000ft on, the car was making black marks out the end of the track. Pretty scary! He had to put a rear spoiler on his Nova.

Yep, some sticky tires and he'd be in the 11s, his MPH shows he's got the ponies.
How is just a stickier tire going to improvement 60’ time?
How many ponies?
from what I gather its only 350 hp?
Stickier tire, more convertor...

I'm assuming you're running those street tires at the track?
I have a decent Coan “2600” stall right now….how much more convertor before street manners start to go away?

Right now I can only get a 26” tall 225/60 under it. Hoping for a little more after the offset trailing arms and narrower spring install, but not sure I can get up to a 255/60.
