All things Drag Racing.

I remember when they got that BBC the first time after having only LS engines, and it effortlessly belted out more HP on the chassis dyno than they had ever made up to that point, I was thinking, finally, they are going to need bigger tires, and then they put on the 315s, sweet.

One thing they did to Mullet for this event was lose the lock-up convertor...which according to the rules package allowed them to be 200 lbs lighter. Mullet definitely responded very well IMO. I think with a bit more F'in around they could have got a 6.40 out of it.

I think I watched on one of Cleets videos his guy Zack was counting the rounds down before they have to put a full set of rods in it. Invant remember the number but they got 50 or 60 runs before they have to put rods in it.

But yeah the valve lash hosed them. They have to check it all the time now. Cold and hot. I’m sure there are other thing he pro line guys call and they are on a steep (and expensive) learning curve to maintain this one.

At the end of the testing video prior to World Cup cleet made a very big distinction between mullet and eagle. Mullet is a very fast street car where eagle is pure race car. Pretty funny to hear Cleeter hoot and holler after each pass.

Friend of mine works for GRP Rods. We’ve had some fantastic conversations about cycle degeneration of aluminum rods

50-60 is on the shorter side. Must be cut down some

That proline is making some crazy number to the wheels like 5000hp. No surprise to me that they need that kind of work. I can’t fathom 4 figure hp numbers much less 5000. The fact that these area are putting these times that a top fuel car would run back in the 80’s is crazy.

It's 25 passes and all rods out of the pool. Cleet did say they actually weren't very expensive.

During World cup they were on the limiter hard the second to last pass. Pro-line just had them re-torque the rods.

An exactly same Pro-line Hemi made 5400 to the wheels on a hub dyno recently. If I heard it right that's at 80+ psi of boost. cleeter was making those 5 second passes at about 55 psi, and running out of gear.

Reminds me of watching Bryant Goldstone go sliding by me on the topend a couple years ago.

Some drag racing pads have the opposite effect of fade, when they get hot, they lock up, that may have happened to him. Glad he is OK, but with a name like "Birdman", you would think he would of done something more like this with his parachutes...
