Jim (Makovai) & I went and looked at this rig today. I came VERY close to buying it - then realized my current rig is in numerous pieces - and how could I justify another Blazer with the lack of time I have right now?

Jim is still on the fence about getting it.

69 Blazer
Two double wall tops (neither in great condition)
one back hatch
two hoods for a '69 (one with a baseball sized dent in the front face)
two sets of front fenders (a pair of which are okay)
good tailgate
no windshield
bondo-city around windshield frame
the door gap on the driver door starts at the bottom of the vent window around 3/8" and goes flush at the top of the door & windshield top post
3/4 ton running gear with 4.10s (Dana 44 & 14 bolt)
4" lift front
6" blocks rear
greasable ORD bolts in all leaf spring mounts
71K mile 350 that supposedly runs good
new Edelbrock carb
new Heddman headers - but no other exhaust (other than headers)
T350 tranny
203 transfer case that doesn't quite fit with 77 pickup transfer case crossmember
34x9.50x16.5 swampers on white steelies
home-made roll bar
no front seats at all
back seat from 73+ rig
no other interior to speak of
no exhaust

no title

$600

Good deal or not? I wanted it for a beater wheeler rig. Jim wants it to part it out. What would you do?

Oh - here are some pics...

The guy basically transplanted a 77 3/4 ton into the Blazer - you can see the sway bar not attached from the 77 truck in this pic.

You can almost see the rot in the windshield frame here - at top right of window frame - that is total bondo

thats a great deal.....you should buy it.

I'm still thinking about it.
Good buy for a parts car.
I wouldn't even consider trying to restore it. way too many issues and no title. But as Ben mentioned it does have the 3/4 ton running gear with the spring perches and shock mounts all completed.

I'd buy it in a heartbeat for a off road only rig, no need to get a title. plus it's a 69 the start of it all.

Justify? I can't justify what I have now. The word you are looking for is afford. If you can, buy it. Looks cool.
me....personally........ I cant justify it, or afford it, but i want it :D

hey ben and jim wheres it at? with 3 people looking i may have a home for it. i'm guessing you guys found it on craigslist.

No title ? What good is it then . Out here we can , and do get pulled over on the forest roads occasionally and they run our chit if they feel like it .

Id buy it. You could go either way depending on what you wanted to do. But like mentioned you should be able to part it for more then that.
