Almost

89 gmc jimmy. 350 tbi stock truck. I plan for this to be my off-road street legal crawler. I have been working at getting her running and road ready. It’s almost there every time I work on it, and when the wife calls I am almost done and headed home.
Question about the check balls.
When @Fullerton pulled it apart we checked to make sure all of the balls were in the right spot. He was missing the 3/8" check ball shown in the image below at the green X mark. We thought we had found another problem, but as you can see in the pic, some people leave it out on purpose. Anybody know what it does?

There is enough funky stuff going on that we are thinking about getting our hands on a different tranny now. :(

Finish tearing the trans apart before doing anything too rash.

The "missing" checkball was used in the TV valve circuit but caused issues. Don't reinstall it.

The TCC solenoid ONLY operates the TCC and has no effect on anything else.

This is an early trans and will have smaller sprags and a different input drum but is really easy to update to the later better parts.
