Alternator Wiring for Dummies Please

Can someone give me a basic rundown of how a later model alternator should be wired?

This is for my 91 K5 but most of the original wiring is gone so I am mostly working from scratch. I'm using the original small body alt for the truck (CS130 style, I think).

I believe the stud on the back needs to get a constant 12v but I'm not sure what else beyond that.

Sorry for the dumb question but I've never had to wire one from scratch.
