The alternator in my ford died today and Im pretty sure I can get a used one from a yard for a little over $20. They have a price sheet and any altenator is the same price, whether it be a 98 chevy 1500 100A or a 82 chevy 60A, theyre all the same price... If they have one.
Or do I bother buying a reman? Ive had nothing but bad luck with reman junk in the past. This is all on DD type vehicles too, never any sort of extreme use.
Or a New one from Napa is $135 for a 75A which seems to be the highest amperage rating for the old ford stuff. Not a bad price either, just a little more than I can afford at the moment.
Opinions? What do you guys think?
