ok everybody. what i thought was a set of american racing 16x8 rims were not. they are 16x7's took them off today and read the back. so i need some new wheels. im am thinkin of some american racing baja 16x10 rims. it says they have a 4.5" backspacing. is that good or bad? also a 8 lug pattern for the suburbans is 8-6.5 right? they are on sale and ive always liked these rims. also will the hub centers from my old rims fit on the new. and what size lug nuts do i need?

Yes on the lug pattern and that BS will push the wheel out a little for better turning radius befor hiting the springs.

K5floyd - yes

.....just think H1 hummer rim with 7.5" backspace on SRW front tucked WAY into the fenders

isnt stock backspacing like 3.75in, so wouldnt that mean 4.5in backspacing put the wheel further in and not out like 6.2puller said

bumping this back up because i want to make sure i understand the BS thing because im ordering new wheels

on a 10in wide wheel. 4.5 is less than half, meaning you got 5.5 sticking out. I have 15x10 with 4.5 and no problem.

btw, what size of tires are you running and lift? the wider the rim the more problem you might have with fender clearence

EDIT: so if im running 35x12.50s on stock rims 3.5" BS on a 15x8 wheel should be good to push the tire out just a bit which is what i want

sorry for the partial hyjack im trying to figure out the wheel thing too

well i actually am going to order 16.5's they are cheaper and i want to get some dick cepek fc 36x15.50 or 36x16.50. i have a six inch lift.

so long as the 16.5" wheels have the same bolt pattern theyll mount fine you should be able to use the lug nuts you have now i beleive
